A widower. I lost my beautiful, brilliant wife on Nov. 7, 2022. Now, as Gordon Pinsent said … the “left-over”. We loved travelling the world by bicycle.
@cherylpounder I wish the men’s game was like the women’s game. Brutality, in my view, demeans the players and diminishes the game. In addition, if player safety actually was a concern, full face shields would be permitted and encouraged. But … “men” must be “men” it seems 🤷🏻♂️
@Ken_Campbell27@jamalmayers@jtbourne I understand the league doesn’t allow players to wear full face shields, unless there is an existing facial injury. It seems that player safety would be enhanced if shields were worn. But of course, “men” must be “men”. And violence… well… that’s what real men do 🤷🏻♂️
@BobIrvingCJOB Though it was a great record, I do think that last year’s 15-3 season was a bit misleading. It seemed as though the defensive front 7 generated noticeably less pressure than previous years, and the defensive backfield was vulnerable and prone to give up big plays.Yikes, O-line 😳
@SuddenWidow Laurel’s and my 41st wedding anniversary was June 12. I lost Laurel, the love of my life, on Nov. 7, 2022. My lord she was beautiful. I lit our candle, raised a glass of wine, and served myself a slice of our 41 yr. old wedding cake … so lovingly preserved by my darling Laurel.
@DanielEllsberg@mehdirhasan@MichaelEllsberg@charlie_savage I saw your father speak in 1972 or 73 at my Canadian university’s Festival of Life and Learning. Along with Dick Gregory and Daniel Barrigan, he was just captivating. What a great event!
@refugeingrief The psychiatric & lifespan development communities have long pathologized grief beyond 12 months. The university developmental textbooks that I taught from for 18 yrs. before I retired 9 years ago, all claimed endpoints. It’s now, with the loss of my wife, that I know the fallacy
@JillMacyshonCTV I passed the scene on my way back to Brandon from Winnipeg early this afternoon. Many ambulances, police, STARS helicopter. I’ve simply never seen a crash site of this magnitude. A terrible, terrible tragedy, Jill.
@realandrewunger My Giesbrecht/Penner grand and great grandparents were among the original 18 families … the commemorative obelisk is part of your tour I think, Andrew.
@LakotaMan1 The residential school system and its intergenerational legacy is commonly viewed as Canada’s great shame. Canada, like South Africa, has experienced an intense process ofTruth and Reconciliation, recognizing that there is still much to do to address historic injustice. But USA?!
