I had a blast speaking to the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association on using criminal defense subpoenas to get critical electronic evidence to confront witnesses and present a defense. Such a phenomenal, and strong, group of defenders with amazing camaraderie!
But I do want to let you know about a recent podcast near to my heart, that of Margo Freshwater v. State of Tennessee. Glass Entertainment and Sony did wonderful work telling the truth behind a story sensationalized for decades about my client.
I’m not much of a true crime media junkie, as my close friends know. The work I do is so all-consuming and exciting, and intellectually and emotionally challenging, that it is hard for me to get into any fictional or documentaries about injustices of the criminal legal system.
Honored to be elected Secretary of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL). Whether conducting a corporate investigation or defending accusations of homicide in a jury trial, I’m proud to stand for the accused and advocate for freedom. https://t.co/UqqgHtWODN

Happy 4th of July! And, in addition to the Declaration of Independence, we should celebrate the constitution, Bill of Rights, and later amendments that are foundational to our freedoms and democracy!
Outstanding work by @TNInnocence!Misleading scientific evidence is a massive problem, making trials unfair and creating the grave danger of putting the innocent in prison.

After a tragic mass shooting in Tennessee, state Republican lawmakers called votes to expel three Democratic legislators who stood in solidarity with students and families.
The expulsion of lawmakers who engaged in peaceful protest is shocking, undemocratic, and unprecedented.
I served for 24 years in the TN State Senate—in the same building that was on so many TV screens today. I was proud of my service, but what we’ve witnessed today under the leadership of the TN GOP was a disgrace to our entire state. I spoke more about it with @NicolleWallace.
Vice President Kamala Harris is visiting Nashville Friday to push for control and meet with two Tennessee Democratic lawmakers who were expelled from the General Assembly after protesting on the floor of the statehouse. https://t.co/1Ynal31sST
