The 2-1 loss to Waukee Northwest featured highs and lows โ both teams scoring in the last 4 minutes of regulation time, double overtime and a 4-3 loss in penalty kicks. Amazing effort, Dragons. Celebrating our learning! Timber Ridge 5th graders hosted a โwax museumโ in which they showcased their research and presentation skills about people who had a positive impact on society, and how they made a difference. From Steve Jobs and Caitlyn Clark to Albert Einstein, Dr. Seuss and Stan Lee, the students showcased a wide variety of impactful people! ๐๐๐๐
These 23 Johnston students scored in the top 2% of all third grade students in mathematics on the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) this spring!
The students will receive a medal this week and are nominees for National Math Stars, honoring the stateโs most advanced young mathematicians in collaboration with the Iowa Department of Education.๐ ๐

๐ฉ๐ฝโ๐ณEight JHS students earned their ProStart Certificate of Achievement (COA) for the 2025โ2026 school year! They were honored Thursday at a special event, where Iowa ProStart Coordinator May Schaben and the Chef Anthony Nace presented students with their COAโs.
๐Congratulations to Kyra Anderson, Timothy Copeland, Emmanuel Curtis, Jaelyn Davenport, Joseph Feuerhelm, Addy Kueper, Emina Mehmedovic, and Dyanna Williams for earning this achievement.
๐To earn the COA, students must complete Level One and Two courses, score at least 70% on the final, work 400+ hours in the restaurant industry and meet 52 of 75 of the workplace competencies.
