@adamdkent We have Rallying as a common connection
My dad used to drive with Paddy Hopkirk in the 1960’s. His big achievement was in the Monte Carlo Rally driving a red Mini Cooper
At the end of the trial, the judge praised how the two convicted rapists had conducted themselves:
‘You have done very well…’
He then let them off with a ‘rehabilitation order’. It was a disgrace.
It wasn’t justice for the victims and their families.
If you rape girls, brandish a knife, film it for sport - premeditated - you should go to prison. For a very long time.
What message does this send to rapists?
This insulting lenient sentence’ must be overturned.
The suitability of the judge who made this perverse decision must be reviewed by the Lady Chief Justice. It shows the rot that’s set in our criminal justice system.
The Justice Secretary’s plan to create a softer route through the criminal justice system for those under 25 is mistaken. It will only encourage more of this.
And David Lammy proposes raising the age of criminal responsibility to 14. That would have meant, for example, the killers of Jamie Bulger escaping prison altogether.
No. Those who commit the most despicable - evil - crimes must go to jail. For punishment. For public protection. For justice.
It’s as simple as that.
Attention voters in #Makerfield: A vote for Andy Burnham is a vote to bring "Red Ed" Miliband straight back into the heart of power. They are already carving up the big jobs behind the scenes.
If you want a real alternative to the same old establishment political games, there is only one choice.
Vote Reform UK! 🇬🇧 @reformparty_uk
If the problem is you're borrowing too much, that arises because you're spending too much. If you're spending too much, you must reduce your spending...It's a very silly person that says, "I'm going bankrupt the way I am but I can't afford to cut so don't ask me."

You know 30% of the people in council houses have higher household incomes than 45% of the people in owner-occupied homes. And yet, the people in the owner-occupied homes are having to subsidise some of that 30%.
You don't cut subsidies to those people who need them. The trouble now is they're right across the board.
And where do subsidies come from? Not from the government, but out of the taxpayers' pocket.
Don't forget governments have no money of their own. They have to get every penny piece from the British taxpayer.

I'm not going to promise more. I'm not going to enter into an auction of public promises. I know what that would mean on taxation; I know what it would mean on National Insurance contributions; I know what it would mean on the burden of industry.
My question to the Prime Minister was about keeping the issue of grooming gangs in the spotlight. While Keir Starmer is distracted by appointing friends of sex offenders to top Government jobs, young British girls are being raped.
@adamdkent@Smurf59801167 It’s clear from this Independent Article The Council was in severe Financial trouble under Conservative leadership
