@Sixty6MK@MikeDapice@rahmstorf Yet you believe that these exact quotes were accurate reflections of predictions made by scientists and that what they actually predicted (rather than a tangential headline) didn't happen.
Same ideology. It's just a fluke that you only fall for some conspiracies.
@rlarno@paulw232@rahmstorf How long do you think it will take for us to adjust our infrastructure and lifestyles around the consequential much colder winters and much hotter summers? It's going to be more complex (and expensive) than buying a few new jumpers or installing air con.
@DavePSherry@rahmstorf Predictions are coming true, and the collapse of AMOC would mean much colder winters as well as much hotter summers for the UK.
You might be OK with keeping your head in the sand, but your grandchildren won't thank you for it.
@The_Triponacci@rahmstorf It's being driven by climate change, so everything we do to reduce emissions & slow down or stop climate change will delay that point, giving us the opportunity to prevent it altogether.
Btw. I'm not aware of any models suggesting a "sudden collapse" of the #AMOC. The very serious real risk is that it soon passes a point of no return (tipping point) where it shutting down over the next 50-100 years becomes practically unstoppable.

@Sixty6MK@MikeDapice@rahmstorf Some of these claims were by attention seeking cranks, not experts. Sometimes other experts addressed the problem.
I bet you think the Millenium bug was a myth. Or that that it's a mere coincidence that Polio went away when the vaccine was rolled out.
@Blue_Collar_Dog@Esdn85@PeterDGardner The 'posing as someone who has worked in the trade' trade hasn't been around 30 years.
You anti-renewables astroturfing accounts need to be a bit less brazen with your lies if you want to gain any traction outwith the flat-earth bubble.
@shadowjazzy1@ItsLaurenFord Andy was making a joke in response to Tim Henman mocking him for having no team to support in a tournament when Scotland hadn't qualified.
Regardless, you are confusing the LTA (UK based organisation) with Wimbledon tennis club. Plus Andy trained abroad as a teen, not with LTA.
@kissedbyjonsnow@Alex9185972022@ricBraddock Everyone is entitled to their opinion, not that I disagree with you. I just accept that awards are about much more than who deserves it most, especially it seems the American ones where working the chat show circuit & attending endless industry events is expected.
@kissedbyjonsnow@Alex9185972022@ricBraddock No doubt he brought in viewers & based on this season, IMO he deserves nominations more than anyone, except perhaps Marissa. But voters binging the show will be influenced by previous seasons & Myha’la has done a lot more promotion. Ken should have won last year IMO.
@kissedbyjonsnow@Alex9185972022@ricBraddock Awards recognition is nice, but less important for established, successful actors like Kit. Myha’la fans only obsess about recognition because she's less well known. Any awards recognition for the show benefits the show which benefits all of the cast if they are good.
@kissedbyjonsnow@Alex9185972022@ricBraddock Myha’la is very good & worthy of praise, but not on the same level as Marissa. Yasmin is more expressive & her character development came as the writers got better, while Harper is more closed off & we were introduced to her at the start.
@md8199562837162@willnorman They are exempt from ULEZ charges. Only the most polluting cars have to pay the ULEZ charge.
If you meant why are EV having to pay congestion charge in the congestion zone, it's because EVs contribute towards congestion on the roads.
@ToIkienverse@0keyboomer He lists multiple cast members he stays in touch with, including recently working with one and seeing the one that lives down the street regularly. And marrying & having kids with another one.
Moving on in this context means it's not the same as it was.
@cardisareolas@RachaelEWrites@justbecause022 Their bad faith take also relies on accepting the Wildlings were the bad guys, when a really important lesson in the books/tv show was that the People of Westeros/Night's Watch were wrong about them.
Due to not questioning the bad faith takes passed down through the generations.
@cardisareolas@RachaelEWrites@justbecause022 Most haters on the internet have zero reading comprehension skills, coupled with with an unhealthy love of bad faith takes. Bad faith takes are arguably more damaging to the hater than the successful celebrity oblivious to their existence, but it's also why we have so many wars.
