Post Mortem
Dear ACT Community,
Over the past 24 hours, the ACT token experienced a significant and sudden price drop.
We want to address the incident transparently and provide context.
As you know, we are a community-driven project with no centralized leadership, and our sole aim is to protect the project and its community.
What Happened:
Binance recently adjusted leverage and margin tiers for multiple tokens, including ACT with a few hours short notice on 3/31 and 4/1.
This forced many traders and market makers with very large positions to be forced to close/downsize their positions, leading to a wave of sell-offs.
Since both high-leverage and low-leverage traders were affected, selling pressure intensified rapidly.
According to Binanceโs preliminary investigation, four users, including three VIPs and one non-VIP, collectively sold over $1 million worth of ACT on the Binance spot market.
These actions triggered sharp price declines that resulted in forced liquidations of leveraged positions across the ACT/USDT pair.
This indirectly affected several other low market cap tokens, which is what they have attributed as the initial reason for the leverage adjustments in the first place.
Additionally, to be clear:
โข This was not due to any internal failure or fundamental flaw in the ACT project.
โข No single party appears to have profited disproportionately from this sequence of trades.
โขThe full circulating supply of ACT is live on the open market, meaning centralized exchanges like Binance cannot restrict or control user behavior once tokens are held in personal accounts.
What Weโre Doing Next:
We remain focused on accelerating our long-term goal of fostering growth and development by building infrastructures that integrate AI into decentralized ecosystems in a scalable and practical way with real-world applications.
We are presenting what we have been building at the end of this month at Token2049, we look forward to presenting and meeting you there.
To Our Community:
We understand how upsetting this has been to our holders, traders, and believers in the ACT vision. Youโve stood with us through the early days, and weโre not going anywhere.
Although we are unable to directly impact the price of the token, we remain focused on our core mission: to build real AI infrastructure for Web3.
This incident, while difficult, does not change our fundamentals, our partnerships, or our long-term vision.
If anything, it has made us double down on decentralization, transparency, and resilience.
We will emerge from this stronger, more focused, and more determined than ever.
Thank you for riding with us. This is just a chapter, not the whole story.
