See below :)
@flosenhausen I just think it's different signing players than having them just waiting in your academy. Given her club have a +1 option there's no way they don't trigger it. I don't personally feel they would move to a team to watch most games. Perhaps the following year
Mentioned her for a couple of yrs now but I keep coming back to feeling Arsenal Women should pursue Tierna Davidson
An experienced, strong, aerial lefty who can play, ticks 2 or 3 key attributes
Injury history for sure & new contract maybe means not till Jan. But just fits.
@flosenhausen It's true, I just think it can depend which leagues they come from and what the opportunity is between their current teams and the new team.
Bugg, for eg, is in a good spot, playing and developing. The likelihood moving to us is not the same right now and so less likely imo
@TwmbarlwmSam I still personally start Steph more times than not. I just think the left foot adds a lot and feel as though the end of the season showed that loss and our LCB was targetted more to close lanes etc., especially the semis/best teams
@flosenhausen Oh, definitely a talent I'd look at. I've kind of assumed she's under contract and would stay there a while but never know. Think her club has a +1 option, just not sure she's moving any time soon.
@itscamillef There's definitely a case for feeling a certain quality level without particularly adding something lacking can be the way to go and maybe the way we have to - tbh it's more likely just with the dearth of lefties and so Esme could well be on that list with her versatility too
@Rookie_Mush My general thinking is I just don't see a better lefty than SC coming along. And so I don't think it's about raising the ceiling - we've proven we can win big & defensive stats back that up - but more raising the floor w/ lacking attributes.
@flosenhausen@anna_awfc I just am unsure that player is A. available after just a year at Madrid. Or B. Ready to really make any real impact given she has yet at Madrid. With no obvious young lefty around, I feel TD buys time for that as one emerges & is ready.
@itscamillef I just don't know what she adds for us as far as attributes we don't have but could benefit us. There are quality CBs around but we have 3 quality RCBs & an excellent LCB. A left foot and aerial strength just feel more valuable additions to me than adding another right-footer
@Rookie_Mush It's mostly a key attributes the squad could use, kind of thing, and then thinking of a player who has some and she's one of the only ones who comes to mind.
@feistywoso Depth aside, I do feel like a CB is only really a floor raiser for us (important as it is w/ the right attributes). But a wide fwd with strong production for me I think is the position I'm most wanting post-Beth as far as ceiling raising goes. Which maybe feeds into your CF wish?
@tafc666 I'm just naming a player who has at least 2 key attributes needed & I don't know if I can name another. I don't personally think our def is much of a worry, data shows that. But another lefty & some aerial presence are big adds. Attributes are fine but requires names that exist.
OTD in 2025 Arsenal Women won their 2nd European title, in Lisbon, beating Barcelona 1-0 thanks to a Stina Blackstenius goal.
Achieving the feat as the only British Women's team do so not just once, but twice.

@LernerHallie I just feel as though, if going this route then there just has to be a real effort to have enough water stations for people to access it and not have to queue for miles, or have it run out. But as well as charge to make money, they also tend to not employ to maximize, sadly
I'm pretty adamant this will end up being pathetic and a disaster with nowhere near enough water easily available in the stadium to create ginormous queues, a shortage, and ultimately thousands of fans suffering absolutely needlessly, potentially drastically, all for a buck 💩

FIFA make last-gasp change to World Cup stadium rules: BANNING fans from bringing refillable plastic bottles, so fans must buy water in stadia
As of May, empty bottles permitted so fans could refill amid heat concerns. Not now

Of many top attributes, a couple of the reasons I'm a big Laila Harbert fan is that she has that ability to dig deep, push & find a way
And as a 6/8 type has not just the quality to score but the desire to, always working on that
