The beauty of my new system for working out which grounds host international cricket new year comes into its own - 6 Tests = one each for the teams who were good enough to qualify for Div 1 of the county champ this year, and Middlesex/Surrey not rewarded for mediocrity
Next summer, England Men will play:
- 3 Tests v New Zealand in June (Lord's, Trent Bridge, Headingley)
- 3 T20 then 3 ODI v India in July
- 3 ODI then 3 T20 v South Africa in July
- 3 Tests v SA in Aug/Sept (Lord's, Edgbaston, Oval)
@cricbuzz I don't know what the methodology is, and I never want to defend Stokes, but he and Cairns have basically the same numbers (34.5/31.0 v 33.5/29.4) but over double the sample size, so yeh, how does this work?
Literally just seen that Renshaw is also playing, so if you have to pick Maddinson, why are you making him open? Because you're scared he can't play the spinners? #SAvAUS
@melindafarrell Obviously one can argue how much this would help with other formats, but would reduce how many randoms get their T20 debut in a BBL game and can give states some more idea of players ready to make the step up from grade cricket
@melindafarrell I've thought for a while that Australian men's domestic cricket could use something like the "Spring Challenge", sans overseas and which can clash with white ball internationals/overseas leagues to give younger players T20 experience
3/4 wides that shouldn't have been given to MI London were, 3/4 and a no ball that should have been given to Rockets not given, questions have to be asked #TheHundred
