@wil_da_beast630 Because even current gen AIs routinely override their ethics programming.
It’s actually a major issue.
You can actually watch earlier generations of AIs “convince” themselves or twist wording to do it.
1) China can’t manage to set up a basic aid defense network that can stand up to India for their best customer. You think they’re going to establish accurate hypersonic targeting against US ships and manage to put enough weapons in the air to swamp the US surface ADA umbrella? Not gonna happen.
2) the US doesn’t need surface combatants to shut down the PLAN’s logistics effort to support any invasion, or to shut down the PRC’s shipping. Subs are more than enough, and Chinese subs are almost as bad as their air defense.
3) I’ll say this again for the slow kids in the class. Stopping 100% of drone and missile attacks against civilian shipping in tight, congested waters is very, very different than trying to operate a major logistical effort across 160km of water in the face of the USN and other allied forces. It’s even worse if we decide to close the Malaca strait to your shipping and your country has a 90 day fuel supply and 60 day economic reserve.
@SHarrell233@AndrewCFollett More importantly, the PRC has a time window where the invasion of Taiwan is feasible, and now the question is whether they can establish the capability in that window.
@honkitchang @BULLtrapBear@AndrewCFollett Drones suck at taking out warships,
Also, opening the Strait of Hormuz for oil and LNG tankers is VERY different than closing the Malaca Strait to PLAN vessels.
Denial is ALWAYS easier.
As you are demonstrating in your denial of facts.
@netanyahu@JMilei

@VincentGeloso Socialism and Leftism in general is populism of the basest sort. It’s “here’s free stuff, pay no attention to the bill or the autocrats behind the curtain.”
You might try applying your argument to any of the current governments of Western and Northern Europe in that light.
@bennyjohnson The AfD’a policies are largely centered to center-left. The reality is that German politics are so radically leftist they don’t have perspective anymore. I’ve seen German academics argue Bernie Sanders is Center-Right.

Okay, in light of all the frankly absurd wailing and gnashing of teeth in Europe over the AfD’a performance in the recent regional election in Germany, I thought it might be helpful to explain some of what is going on for my American friends.
First, you will see the AfF called a Far-Right party. In reality, they are European style centrists who oppose mass immigration. Their head is a lesbian married to an immigrant.
The reason they are called “far-right” is because German Political Scientists and Journalists will look you in the eye and tell you that Bernie Sanders is center-right in his politics.
The real issue is that the supposedly “center-right” party in Germany is the CDU/CSU, and they basically are equivalent to the DSA in the US. The “left wing” parties in Germany are outright and largely unabashedly communist or other forms of totalitarian socialist.
So here’s the deal. The Left has had Germany sown up since shortly after the wall came down thanks to the way the Wast German communist pastry (the SED) got handed control of most of the major parties in Germany by the West German government during integration.
That’s where people like Angela Merkel came from, by the way.
So now the portion of Germany that actually lived under communism is rejecting the new version of it the CDU/CSU, Greens, and SPD have been trying to establish. And the commies aren’t happy (in Berlin or Brussels).

How? What party, exactly, could they vote for that actually opposes mass immigration (as opposed to decrying it publically and then implementing more of it like the CDU) and isn’t the AfD?
A huge part of why the AfD is loosely aligned towards Russia is because they (rightly) see the EU as a threat to German independence, democracy, and society.
See that’s the sad thing. You’re sitting there as “EuroMaximalist” with your EU flag in your profile, and wondering what could possibly cause them to possibly turn to Russia. And at no point are you asking yourself if it might be the policies and actions of the EU and its allies at the national levels driving that. That there is a reason that the EU is seen by an increasingly large amount of Germans as the enemy of “Germans getting to be German” because of its expanding totalitarian tactics, moronic economic and energy policies, and unceasing demands for replacement immigration.
Want to know why so many Germans are voting as they are? Take a look in the mirror.

“Deliver solutions?”
There were no solutions to deliver because what has been happening in Germany for the last twenty years is the desired outcome of the CDU/CSU and its partners in the more openly communist parties to their left. Importing untold masses of immigrants , eroding democratic institutions in Germany and the EU, and destroying the German economy are their goals, not accidental byproducts of some supposedly benevolent master plan that just didn’t work out.
