@Taoiseach5@ethsleeprepeat has the same opinion you do about Martin Dagenais. I personally hope we let Beausoleil have a real shot. I don’t think he would make the same mistakes Robitaille made with the dual role.
@Taoiseach5 Yeah I also think he wasnt a great coach. If we don’t hire Beausoleil as HC next season we have to go with someone with experience. No more learning on the job.
@Taoiseach5 I heard so many horror stories from people really close to the locker about l’oiseau. He really destroyed the players confidence from what I was told. Beausoleil had a lot of shit to repair.
When Olivier Renard arrived at @cfmontreal, he inherited some bad contracts: Taider 3,2M and Urruti 1,7M. A couple of years later, Wanyama was extended at 1,8M - which was not his call. Not to mention Renard's budget was cut by 3M.
Every year, Renard, had to deal with having the lowest salary payroll in the MLS. Despite these challenges, Renard's teams were always competitive. One year, they had the 3rd best record in the league. When it got to the point that Renard's hands were tied and he no longer could do the job the way he wanted to, Renard, had a decision to make. He could stay, keep his title and collect his salary but all this while being a puppet. Or, leave. Renard, chose to leave because he did not want to tarnish his reputation of a highly qualified Sporting Director.
When Renard left, some were told that he wanted to be a one man show and he didn’t often go with others advice. At his last media scrum following his departure, Renard, told the media that a baker should not take advice from people who do not know how to make a grilled cheese.
This season, in CF Montreal’s 1st full season with a new management team, with a new coaching staff and with at least 15 new players - the results are as follows:
- 3 wins in 21 MLS games (last in the East)
- Eliminated by a CPL team in the Canadian Championship. Conceded 3 goals in 2 games; two of the goals were in Montreal.
Last night, Marco Donadel said the loss had nothing to do with the tactics. After Donadel made the subs he made, his team became open and unbalanced. And,
they got beat on counters. Not to mention, his defensive man marking system does not work. Donadel is a good man, but truth be told, Bobby put Marco in his back pocket.
Where is the accountability? And, where is the media to hold everyone accountable? Some do, too many do not.
Today is July 10, 2025 and the club finds itself with nothing to play for this season. The club has lost their passion - the owner admitted as much in a TV interview several months ago. On top of that, they have lost their ambition and they have lost their way.
The team does not excite, the players do not excite, their game does not excite. Attendance has dropped and more and more people who were once fans, have become indifferent.
It is time for one or two to take a long look in the mirror and do the right thing/s....before it too late.
As they say en Français: La farce a assez duré.
