Unofficially the official twitter account of Jonathan the Tortoise. I am the longest recorded living land animal, living on St Helena in the South Atlantic.
Here’s an awesome interview with Joe Hollins, island vet on #StHelena who looks after the world’s oldest tortoise. The photo is one I took of him last year while I was there. Listen to it — the “Vet at the end of the Earth” @Jonathan_onStH https://t.co/L23IobvZ5C
St. Helena island vet Joe Hollins profiled in @Telegraph. He’s written a book which will be out soon, and @Jonathan_onStH is a major character in it. https://t.co/Sf0EW6hfU2
A true honour to meet 190 year old @Jonathan_onStH on Saint Helena.

🇸🇭 - Promoting St Helena overseas using a rigorous tourism campaign based on Jonathan.
Jonathan being presented with his 190th birthday cake at Plantation House today. Delivered to him by the wonderful staff of Plantation that care for him for a day-to-day.

Was able to join Jonathan the tortoise as he celebrated his 190th birthday yesterday on St Helena. He hosted it at the house where he's lived for the last 140 years! He had a birthday cake made from his favourite veggies and everyone else had a slice of something more traditional
On behalf of the communities of St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha, we would like to express our profound sorrow on the news of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. We send deepest condolences to His Majesty the King and the Royal Family.
The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.
The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.
Saint Helena Journal — Day 10: Jonathan isn’t the only tortoise in town. Here are Emma, David, and Frederick enjoying a lovely mud bath at Plantation House. Check out the lichen on Fred’s carapace. #sthelenaisland#tortoisetuesday@Jonathan_onStH
@hr_jeans@SIF_Seychelles@Jonathan_onStH Yes — I’m in awe of him! Jonathan inaugurated me into the Great Order of the Tortoise, for which I am eternally honored.
Saint Helena Journal — Day 6: Say hi to Jonathan, native of #Aldabra and world’s “oldest land known vertebrate,” believed to be 190 years old. I have wanted to meet him for a decade — it’s a banner day for me! #StHelenaIsland@SIF_Seychelles@Jonathan_onStH
