Wags was one of a kind. Always had a smile on his face and oozed enthusiasm about his work. He had been through so much in recent years. Simply devastating.

[Josh Dubow @JoshDubowAP]

I am completely gutted by this. I had the pleasure of working side by side with Mike at countless events big and small. He made every press box a better and more fun place. He was a dedicated worker, dear friend and proud father. Wags was one of a kind.

Neil was a student of his craft who took his profession incredibly seriously, and taught me a ton as my career progressed. My thoughts go out to his family.

Two of the absolute Giants. Great at their craft, even better people. Will both be missed and remembered.

In a state of shock. People throw around the term "legend" too loosely, but in the world of athletic communications, Lawrence was at the top. SJSU, the Bay Area, and college athletics won't be the same

Rest easy, Lawrence

[San Jose State Spartans @SJSUAthletics]

We are saddened to share that longtime sports information director Lawrence Fan has passed away at the age of 67.

More information will come soon on the celebration and recognition of Lawrence's life.

At this point, my men’s bracket is utter trash so I’m just rooting for Syracuse and whatever gets Bill Walton the most national airtime #BackThePac

[Jonathan Okanes @JonathanOkanes]

@RexChapman How did he expect to broadcast the game if he was so disoriented?

[Cal Men's Golf @CalMensGolf]

Dear friends and readers, I hit the professional lottery getting to cover the #SFGiants for more than 30 years. But now it's time for me to move on. I am leaving The Chronicle and retiring from daily journalism. My story: https://t.co/cKXomPt3Ac
