"Hope" here is as battered as a stray cat… worn out, scratched, and bitten by time. I write it exactly like this because at this very moment, someone’s loved ones are trapped under the rubble. Rescuers pull Ukrainians out again and again, and every single one of them shows no signs of life. These people are no longer with us. What is it like for their families to find that out, the families who, at this very second, are waiting? They cling to that same "hope"... hope that lives on until the very last moment.

Sometimes, a person desperately needs the ability to switch off their emotions, the feelings that, in these minutes, plunge you into total darkness and an abyss of realization. The realization that someone who was alive and by your side just a few hours ago is gone. Or they are still being searched for, but you understand there is simply no chance left, because everyone they find has already perished. Sometimes, fueled by emotion, I call life a bitch, and this is exactly one of those times. It is better to love life than to hate it, but days like these don't give you that chance.

The city of Dnipro is still shrouded in thick black smoke following the russian night attack. Rescue operations are still underway in the very heart of the city; right now, people remain trapped under the rubble of their own homes. You often hear that karma will catch up with them for these actions, that the boomerang will find its way back… I don’t know exactly what invisible hand or force is responsible for such things, but over all these years, could these "boomerangs" not have been sent back to russia so they would understand: peace is good, and war is bad? Humans weren't given intellect and the art of speech for nothing. Was it really impossible to live as neighbors in a different, more human way? Life is full of enough shit even without war, and it isn't nearly long enough to be cut short by this madness.

You know, it’s probably the thousandth time I’ve spent the night in the bathroom, sitting on the floor and listening to Russian missiles explode, shaking my entire house.
