Wayne Rooney is without question one of the most talented footballers of my lifetime. Could play any position or fill any role if needed, the ultimate team player, he sacrificed himself & his body, whatever it took - all in sole pursuit of winning. The way he stormed onto the scene with his goal vs Arsenal, the anticipation after his move to Manchester United, the hat trick vs Fenerbahçe on debut. What stands out most is that he delivered on the hype - to have that level of expectations & actually meet them!? He scored 253 goals for Manchester United, 53 for England & is one of the most decorated English players ever. If he had been more selfish with his numbers & his body, those would be much higher but that wasn't who he was as a man or player. This is not to disrespect Neymar, who inspired a generation of players with a style born from the streets of Brazil, this is simply my love of Rooney, a player I got to watch every week for two decades. I wish I'd appreciated him more then, it was a true privilege. A one of one footballer.

עד הצבא לא פגשתי אף אוהד של מ.ת״א. השנאה אליהם היתה רעיונית. אבל אחרי עשור שגרתי שם, היא קיבלה גם פנים ושמות. וככל שהכרתי יותר מהם, התיעוב רק גדל. משהו בהרכב האנושי בקהל הזה - צפונבונים מצד אחד, לה פמיליות מצד שני ומאחוריהם הגב של הממסד, בלתי אפשר לעיכול. אני כלכך רוצה לנצח היום
