As we swelter through another heatwave we're facing more sanctimonious nonsense from people opposing the use of air conditioning
Today I write in the @Telegraph about this idiocy. Also today the paper is carrying a story on how the @nhs is prioritising net zero over the comfort and safety of sick people
These officials need to get a grip. It's no more acceptable to restrict cooling in summer than it is to limit heating in winter
There's no virtue in being miserable

@RealAlexJones This seems strange.... Trees and plants thrive on Co2.... They pump it in the to commercial greenhouses to get the produce to be in abundance
There is a reason Greenpeace don’t use “X”, not many here took any notice of what they had to say. It will be the same with people who constantly bang the drum of anti oil.. it will always be seen as pseudoscience, to blame climate change on oil production. Climate has always changed, to say it has never changed, is down to ignorance, and a poor education.
@implausibleblog Yeah... No one cares.. Apart from people who read the Guardian and trans the kids at birth,. And also accept fighting age Somalian men in to their rented accommodation.
Nonsense
You are posting on X
That means you have an electronic device and are using the internet. These are all dependent on oil to operate as many of the components are made from plastic
I'm sure you drive a car or take some form of transport. Even electric modes use oil
You eat food which relies on gas for fertiliser and oil for planting, harvesting, conversion to food, refrigeration and distribution
You wear clothes. Many of which are made from oil and all of which use oil in the production and distribution
You use medicines. Almost every licenced drug today is made from oil as is most medical equipment
If you and everyone else stops using oil and gas, oil and gas companies would cease to exist
@Bbmorg Climate change is bullshit and now only happening in Europe.... With USA out, Russia out, China out and India out, it's time for Europe to get real....
@antonioguterres Renewables are not the cheapest and it's dishonest to say so when the evidence is overwhelmingly to the contrary
If wind and solar were the cheapest form of generation, countries with lots of wind and solar would have the lowest bills
But they don't. They have the highest
This..
We need cheap, secure energy
Anything that relies on the weather is neither cheap nor secure
The grid should serve the people. That's the entire concept of a "utility". Anyone suggesting people need to sacrifice their comfort to save the grid is missing the point
