Waters Above. Genesis 1:1-19 (literal original Hebrew):

1️⃣ Genesis 1:1-2: “In the beginning, God created the shamayim (heavens) and the earth (erets).

The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep (tehom), and the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the mayim (waters).”

2️⃣ Genesis 1:6-8: “And God said, ‘Let there be a raqiya (firmament) in the midst of the mayim, and let it separate the mayim from the mayim.’

And God made the raqiya and separated the mayim under the raqiya from the mayim above the raqiya.

And it was so. And God called the raqiya shamayim (heavens/sky).”

3️⃣ Genesis 1:9-10: “And God said, ‘Let the mayim under the shamayim be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appear.’ And it was so.

God called the dry land "earth," and the mayim that were gathered He called it "seas" (yamim).

4️⃣ Genesis 1:14-19: God places lights (sun, moon, stars) in the raqiya of the shamayim to govern day and night.

🔑 Key words:

💦 Mayim (Waters): Primordial waters divided by the raqiya into waters below (gathered into yamim) and waters above, associated with the tehom (deep).

🌈 Raqiya (Firmament): A firm structure separating the waters below from the waters above, named shamayim, containing the shamayim and the waters below (seas) within the cosmic system.

☁️ Shamayim (Heavens/Sky): The expanse created by the raqiya, the “space left where the mayim used to be,” filled with less dense air and housing the heavenly lights.

🌊 Yamim (Seas): The waters below, gathered and contained by earthly boundaries.

⚓️Tehom (Deep): The primordial deep, encompassing the initial chaotic waters, with the raqiya and its contents situated within this broader context, implying external waters or pressure. #BiblicalCosmology
