@naturistrebel I think with the right amount, the alcohol can give the drink a lift or a boost (I am reacting differently from you). It lets me deal with bitterness, for instance, say in a Guinness. I do not enjoy an alcoholic drink past a limit (a pint for beer, two glasses for wine).
@naturistrebel I don't drink alcohol for its own sake, but it can be lovely with other flavours - I love a gin and tonic or a whisky or port or sherry or of course wine. I love rum or brandy in my fruit cake. Less keen on vodka or sake.
