This AV Chicago project is a good example of how I work.
Visual documentation isn’t just about finished spaces — it’s about recording progress, decisions, and transformation as they happen.
This kind of record is what developers and contractors actually use long after construction wraps.
After 80 years in the dark, the light returns.
For the first time since the 1940s, sunlight touched these floors—captured in real time as the first window was carved open.
History cracks open, and we were there to document the moment. @avchicago
Farmhouse sink. Waterfall island. A fridge that disappears into the cabinetry instead of fighting it. This Hinsdale kitchen photographs like it was built for it.

Almost drove right past this one.
Desert Inn motel, Beatty NV. Windows busted out, paint long gone to rot, lot gone back to gravel. Pulled over anyway. Sky went cobalt right as the last light hit that yellow-green siding. Stopped being optional after that.

Ever notice how some open floor plans feel chaotic and others feel like one continuous room? This one's the second kind. The dining table is fully visible from the couch, the kitchen doorway lines up with the hallway mirror, and none of the furniture is loud enough to break that sightline. That neutral palette is doing real work too. Buyers can actually picture their own furniture in this room instead of mentally redecorating around someone else's taste first.

Been standing in the Nevada desert since 1984.
Shot at sunset. Straight into the light. The shadows stretch longer than the sculptures themselves.
Rhyolite, NV — a ghost town that fits the name.

Black frame. White mat. Pure chaos inside.
Pink and cyan neon against a black void. This one doesn't blend into a room — it takes over a wall. That's either a problem or the whole point.

Most wall art blends in. This one brings the whole room into 1964.
Red neon, black sky, a Jeep that hadn't moved in an hour. "HO-Made" always takes over the wall.

Scale is the thing most prints get wrong. This one doesn't.

Set up a tripod in a dark parking lot in Utah at midnight. No plan. Just saw the neon.
That's usually when the best shots happen. No brief, no client, no deadline. Just a sign that said "Ho-Made Pies" glowing red into the desert.

That's a Westinghouse range. Still in the kitchen. Still original.
Kenilworth estate — wallpaper, cabinets, radiator, all of it untouched. A house that stopped getting updated and just kept being itself.

Walked past this a dozen times. Had to actually stop to see it.

Phone cameras have never been better.
Still not this.
Six weeks of a commercial build in two frames — lobby windows going in, weather barrier up, sidewalk poured. A camera that can actually hold all of it.

Nobody reads the placard.
40-foot neon sculpture on the Las Vegas Strip.
Most people glance up, keep walking. Get underneath it with a camera and it stops being public art — starts being something else entirely.
