Far from my typical post here:
1/28/23
2 years since my dad passed away
I’m blessed to say that I had a dad who fully supported my dreams of playing baseball by sacrificing a lot of his own time because he was genuinely loved seeing his kid chase his dream.
4 hour drives just about every weekend to watch me play in college, leaving work early for midweek games if was close enough. Staying at the facility with me in high school until 9 or 10 at night every night to watch me train or to throw me BP
It wasn’t until after I got done playing I realized 1: how lucky I was and 2: why he supported me so much.
For context:
He grew up with two teenage immigrant parents who were raising a large family with very little money.
Sports and dreams weren’t a priority in that household. It was all about getting by.
Even though my dad spoke very vaguely of his own dad, he talked about growing up playing basketball and his dad not showing up at a single game throughout high school.
My dad got the chance to play basketball at the University of Albany but dropped out after one semester because he couldn’t afford to go to school.
He decided to join the Army, and eventually started his business after serving.
Never getting the chance to live out his dreams of playing basketball and getting an education. Something that as an athlete in today’s world, I definitely took for granted.
With all that being said, if you’re an athlete and you have the ability to have access to resources and a family that supports your dream, you’re wasting your time by not giving your all each day.
Excited to announce I’m reopening my recruitment for Spring 2025. Grateful to New College of Florida for the fall.

Congratulations to 2024 C/IF Cole Sofge of @LargoBaseball on his commitment to @SFSCAthletics! @csofge05 has been a consistent standout offensively as a switch-hitting backstop w/ power from both sides of the plate along with an above average arm, throwing plenty of runners out.
I am extremely excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at Warner University, I would like to thank my parents for pushing me to be better every day, and my friends who helped me through everything. Go Royals!
