@caseyliss I use cat5 and cat5e everyday. Still pulls gig speeds.

My suggestion is put the synology and any servers in the garage. Then run copper to everything. You’ll last until the WiFi speeds over take copper. 😀

@caseyliss 2nd also, you need to put the fibre break out in the attic and then run copper from A to B. So any time you need to add you have to go in the attic space. If you run as all home runs then you don’t have to enter the attic space except to run more cat6.

@caseyliss Also you can’t easily splice fibre if there is a break in the line. So you’d need to run either something with multiple pairs or multiple cables.
