@wormhillknowing@RMckwei@SANTOXXXIII The chemists and technicians hired for the pharmaceutical manufacturing are mostly local. These aren’t just shell companies using PR addresses for tax purposes.
@sleepygatas Nothing against Brazil, but we have no political, cultural, or genetic connection to them whatsoever. Brazilians and Puerto Ricans don’t even hang out together in the US.
@notsotroubled@Zachslc 70mm IMAX tickets are like $10 more expensive because the prints and equipment are very expensive, and you need to hire a trained projectionist to run them. It's not just due to artificial scarcity.
@PalmyrPar There are literally 30 theaters in the entire world that can play the film in true 70mm IMAX.
The advertising for the movie is catering almost entirely to like 0.1% of its audience.
@JoshuaKbooks@NoblestCalling@russellhbrooks I consider frugality to be a virtue, but shaming a debt-free man who’s in the top 15% of earners for owning the equivalent of a Toyota Tundra borders on pathological. No actual financial advisor would view this as an excessive expense.
@JoshuaKbooks@NoblestCalling@russellhbrooks Like most rules of thumb concerning personal finance, this is very dumb. Do you honestly believe that someone who earns more than 85% of Americans should be relegated to driving a Toyota Camry?
@NoblestCalling@russellhbrooks A $50,000 vehicle seems well within the means of someone making a mid-six-figure income with apparently no debt.

$130k salary is about 90th percentile in the US. He is not poor.
@me_cake219@3lixas@wormhillknowing@EmperorStarfish@OdioiNgr When did I say that most Puerto Ricans are white? I said that the average Puerto Rican is of majority European descent. Which is true. Even in the image you posted, one guy is black, one guy is mulatto, and the rest are clearly over 60% Iberian.
