A few reminders as we head into Thanksgiving:
-Don't comment on someone's body, even if it looks different than the last time you saw it.
-Don't comment on someone's food choices. Those are inside thoughts.
-Don't assign moral value to food. You don't need to "earn" pie.
If the only reason you exercise is because you hate your body
You’ll not stick with it very long or enjoy it at all
Find movement you enjoy
And watch your habit grow easily
Hot take:
There’s no “perfect” way to eat or to exercise.
It’s very much personal to you.
So stop being afraid to “get it wrong”.
Life is one big experiment - which should be a lot of fun 😊
Tuesday tip:
Don’t listen to what intuitive eating is from people who aren’t qualified intuitive eating counsellors or those in training.
Otherwise you’re going to get the wrong impression of what intuitive eating is.
It’s difficult to like what you see in the mirror when people who are slimmer than you hate on their own bodies and make comments about your food choices.
We live in a world obsessed with dieting. We have to be compassionate when we struggle when this is what surrounds us.
If you think emotional eating is a bad thing, you’ll struggle to stop it.
If you own emotional eating as a conscious choice, it won’t have a negative effect.
1 push-up is better than 0.
5 minutes walking is better than 0.
5 deep breaths is better than 0.
Don’t let the idea of a “perfect plan” stop you from doing what you can.
Something is better than nothing.
Leaner does not automatically mean healthier or fitter.
For me, being leaner meant being obsessed with food, constantly fasting & eating low calorie foods, exercising frequently AND doing extra cardio, creating a restrictive lifestyle.
Lean does not always equal health.
One of the key parts of intuitive eating is satisfaction
And that may make your head beat with the tune of Eric Prydz…

It’s up to you whether you set boundaries with other people about diet talk.
You can either ignore it and change the subject, leaving it alone and letting them be.
Or you can say you prefer to talk about other things. It’s your choice based on how you feel best.
Not dieting and intuitive eating are not the same thing.
One revolves around chaos. The other has structure and a system applied to it.
The difference is key.
You can be both mad at your parents for your own relationship with food while then letting it go and working on it.
You can also set a boundary with what they speak about now OR ignore it & leave them alone as a different person with different experiences.
You get to choose.

The only diet you need to go on is a steady diet of kind thoughts about yourself.
Our thoughts affect our feelings which then affect our behaviours.
Don’t be a total twat to yourself.
