Hi. Just a smol update. Iโve not been posting on this account for the reason that my content was constantly getting suppressed by the algo.
So Iโve started a new account at @MeganeJon. Hope to stay connected!
Noticed that @Rabby_io browser extension has included biometric/pass key login. Nice little upgrade there, but is that mostly useful for laptop users that have readily access to fingerprint scanning?
Using the passkey still requires that I enter a password, so I'm trying to decide if I should be using the passkey or just my regular password?
Finally got a quantized version of gemma 4 running locally on my old Mac Mini. The conversational/orchestral layer using a local model, then calls on subagents that only used cloud based models to do the complicated stuff seems like a nice little solution. Still lots of tinkering though!
I've been designing since the 1990s, and AI hasn't impacted the way I design.
I've tried generating variants and exploring directions, but it's not there for me yet on the visual side. It could be a skill issue, I admit that.
But if AI went away tomorrow, nothing would change in my craft, I'd still be able to design.
But some wouldn't be able to because they rely on it too much. Which will become their weakness.
that's an interesting shift, but it's worth observing a little longer before making a blanket conclusion IMO. Dashboards exist because people like seeing the data to them without having to say a word.
Until we're directly interfaced with the UI via a neural link, dashboards will likely go back to being a dashboard, and the chat bar will float or live in a drawer.
