Coaching Linebackers isn’t about collecting random coaching points.

It’s about using an organized SYSTEM of development.

Find that system inside THE LB LIBRARY.

Linebackers:

Move. Shed. Tackle.

Focus on the fundamentals.

Linebackers:

When your career is over, you won’t wish you had more stats.

You’ll wish you had one more chance to fly around the field with your buddies.

[Jon Svec @JonSvecX]

Linebackers:

Your entire game will change once you realize that problems with your FEET are actually problems with your EYES.

[Jon Svec @JonSvecX]

Linebackers:

Move SQUARE.

[Jon Svec @JonSvecX]

Elite Linebackers keep their LEVERAGE.

[Jon Svec @JonSvecX]

Yes…

Linebackers should be “aggressive”.

But that doesn’t mean they should smash into every blocker they see.

The Linebackers who know when to STRIKE and when to AVOID are the ones who make plays.

[Jon Svec @JonSvecX]

Linebackers:

When you try to see everything…

You see nothing.

Read your KEYS. They’ll take you to the play.

[Jon Svec @JonSvecX]

Linebackers:

Your game will improve once you start moving DOWNHILL as you move LATERALLY.

[Jon Svec @JonSvecX]

Linebacker Block Destruction:

Use your HANDS.
Keep yourself CLEAN.
Disengage and make the play.

[Jon Svec @JonSvecX]

I’m convinced that any Linebacker — even if they’re not the biggest or the fastest — can become elite if they just master the fundamentals, study the game, and play with a relentless motor.

@TheLastFullback Thanks, appreciate it!

The goal of this account:

To make the Linebacker position as SIMPLE as possible.

[Jon Svec @JonSvecX]

Underrated Linebacker advice:

Know the DOWN and DISTANCE.

Sounds simple, but it’ll help you make plays.

[Jon Svec @JonSvecX]

We can’t just TELL our Linebackers to “play fast”.

But if we simplify their reads, teach efficient movement skills, and drill the proper angles…

They will.

[Jon Svec @JonSvecX]

Linebackers:

Study film with a PURPOSE and the game will slow down.

[Jon Svec @JonSvecX]

Linebacker READS don’t need to be complicated.

They just need to know where to look, what they’ll see, and how to react.

That’s it.

[Jon Svec @JonSvecX]

Linebackers:

Master the SCRAPE.

(Square shoulders and turned hips.)

It'll help you make plays.

[Jon Svec @JonSvecX]

@gmurillo82 Square movements, efficient steps, nice play!

[Jon Svec @JonSvecX]

@BigOrangeHeupel A Linebacker needs to SEE IT first (ie. get their read) before attacking.

[Jon Svec @JonSvecX]

Linebackers:

Eyes before feet.

Always.
