Both affect our overall finances, obviously, but that doesn’t mean one fee is “offsetting” the other. And no, I don’t think we’d pay £35m for Richy guaranteed.

@GraemeFriday It’s really not that mysterious. Everton are managing SCR, so sales create room for incoming wages and amortisation. Beto’s sale doesn’t magically reduce Richarlison’s fee on the accounts. Separate deals, separate accounting.

@Mac_Paul0 @TacticallyMatt That’s how it looks to the fans, not how it looks in the accounts. Ndiaye and Richarlison are separate transactions, with their own fees and accounting treatment. You can call the overall outcome terrible, but that doesn’t make them one deal.

@endoever39871 @TweetGyorgi However, the likely sales of Ndaiye and beto will help massively, particularly Ndaiye. As his book value will be pretty low due to how much we paid for him and the length of his contract and incoming fee, 60m fee, approx 49m book value profit
