NJ: How are deaf-blind people supposed to work and learn in a world of Zoom? A world of social media? TikTok? Those who communicate through touch, how do they communicate in a time of physical/social distancing? We can't use "The master's tools" #DisJusGU
.@notthreefifths speaking truth to power about colonialism's impact on who's dying from COVID-19 (Black & Indigenous) & how colonization & trauma creates disabilities, but often erases our disabilities. #DisJusGU. #CrushColonialism
Using war rhetoric to frame COVID-19 response leverages ableism. In this frame disabled bodies are deemed less valuable and disposable. This rhetoric in the US has also had racial undertones that are seeping into policies
The current global crisis highlights the crucial importance of an intersectional, decolonized and inclusive approach to everything - it is literally life and death

We're transforming the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center into a hospital to help combat COVID-19.

3.7 million of you chose not to ride with us yesterday because you want to #flattenthecurve.
We miss you, but for now, we’ll say: thank you for not riding with us. You’re keeping NYC safer.
(3/3)Describing it as “a war” is saying we need to fight at all costs. We should instead focus on coming together as a community, to build a sense of connection when we must be physically distant. Focus on ppl&you will get a human response, focus on war&you will get violent panic
(2/3) officials and leaders are saying that we “are in wartime” when describing the shut down of events, services and schools. This is so dangerous. War feeds fear, hate and violence. The racism and xenophobia that has accompanied this pandemic is more horrifying than the virus
