With the dominant top seed Fairfield leaving the conference in 2027, this officially leaves the Metro wide open for the foreseeable future.

No. 1 Fairfield chases a rare four-peat as conference champions, returning their top four scorers from last season.

No. 2 Quinnipiac loses nine players and welcomes a fresh face to the bench for the first time in 31 years: @theshotdr.

No. 3 Merrimack welcomes 12 newcomers including new head coach, @CoachTraversi.

Breaking News:

Quinnipiac’s top rival, Fairfield is officially leaving the Metro, as they accept an invitation to join the CAA effective July 1 of 2027.

Fairfield women’s basketball has dominated the conference including three consecutive conference championships under Carly Thibault-DuDonis.

The Stags are at the center of the latest conference shakeup, with Monmouth leaving for the CAA in 2022.

Fairfield has accepted the CAA’s invitation to join the league, per ESPN sources. They will be a full member effective July 1, 2027.

Per @creightonW10S: Former Quinnipiac senior Ella Lewis will play her graduate year in the Big East.

Lewis will look to help the Creighton Blue Jays win their first Big East Tournament in program history. Last season the Blue Jays lost in the quarterfinals to the no. 2 seed Depaul 4-0.

After a dominant sophomore season, reigning MAAC Player of the Year, Willow Renton broke the Quinnipiac D1 single-season wins record.

Renton recorded 50 victories on the way to her second MAAC Championship.

As coach @theshotdr rounds out his squad, Ana Ramos Pires will be the latest forward to join Quinnipiac women's basketball.

Ramos Pires did not see game action for the Georgia State Panthers last season. Prior to that at Garden City CC, she was a two-year starter, starting 60 of 61 games.

In 2024-25, the São Paulo, Brazil native averaged 7.3 points per game while shooting 44.3% from the field.
