@Jessworldview If you haven’t read “The Princess and the Goblin” by George MacDonald it’s a must. His writing inspired Tolkien and Lewis. And when you read it you realize that nobody knows how to write like that anymore.
One of the best things is that the internet is very reliable and that there aren't millions of posts and claims and videos that may or may not be real.
Patriotism, to me, is the fact that I love my country more than I'll ever dislike any of it's leaders. And I love my flag more than I'll ever dislike anyone who wears it.
Is it just me or do some pundits seem disappointed that there is less political tension around this gold medal game then during 4 nations? It's so silly. This is not a battle for world dominance. It's about who is better at hockey. And THAT is the highest stakes possible. #GoCanada
@stephen_taylor I would even go as far to say that it's perhaps the least punished sin. It seems like people are punished far more for not saying "the right thing" then they are for not DOING the right thing.
Social media algorithms are like if you went to a restaurant and you say “I’ll start with the uh……fish cakes” and then you go to order your main course and the menu is now just various fish cakes. And you say to the waiter “hey I came here because I heard your steaks were amazing” and he’s like “not for you. You’re fish cake guy now” and you’re like “I ordered it once!” And the waiter is like “easy there fish cakes guy. Have some fish cakes to calm you down”.
Do I think I'm better than you? Probably not.
But am I better than every single Hollywood writer at making up a name of a fake social media site? Almost for sure.
This might not be the right platform to say this but.....the internet was clearly a mistake. You're hearing way to many opinions and thoughts from people who did not earn your attention and respect.
I just met the sweetest Jewish family and it broke my heart so terribly to hear them unsure whether or not it was safe to go to a community Hanukkah event…
Never would I have imagined that children in Los Angeles would have to fear being gunned down.
