After all these intellectuals spending years fantasizing about what “Trumpism” could or should be, we now see what his administration actually cares about, at its most cocky and powerful. This isn’t me trying to be snarky or anything, I think this is honestly a fairly decent objective summary of what his team clearly sees as its priorities at a time when they feel extremely confident and in control:

- dramatically cutting pretty much everything the federal government does, including across the board cuts to staff, spending, and regulations
- completely eliminating all federal diversity and anti-discrimination programs
- pro oil and gas, but opposition to all forms of alternative energy
- eliminating official government recognition of LGBT
- pro-Crypto and pro “dark web” internet in general
- reducing all forms of immigration as low as possible
- economic hostility towards other countries
- taking land from other countries
- prioritizing personal loyalty to Trump above everything else when it comes to staffing decisions
- retconning absolutely everyone involved with January 6, 2021 as people who did absolutely nothing wrong and are in fact worthy of celebration
- explicit, repeated adulation of Trump as the greatest president in the history of the United States

Is there anything big I’m missing? This has been a busy few days.

One reason pollsters might be failing to pick up what and Seltzer picked up in Iowa, is a lot of women are afraid to say they are voting for Harris.

Sharing stories yesterday after knocking doors in Pennsylvania, can't tell you the number of canvassers who had wives standing in the background while speaking to the husband and having them mouth something to the effect that they were voting for Harris. Or if they answered the door, they pretended to not say who they were voting for out loud and then whispered they were voting for Harris. It's kind of heartbreaking actually.

One of the joys of canvassing is that you meet people who fall into nobody's mental categories.

Case in point: the 70yo white guy I just canvassed who told me he's undecided because they're both great candidates and both would do a great job.
