As the Australian War Memorial spends half a billion dollars to expand commemoration of recent conflicts, the institution is confronting questions about whether it has ignored a bloody conflict that raged for a century and was the genesis of our settlement. #abc730@latingle
#TheAustralianWars our new series for SBS drops on @SBS & @NITV September 21 @ 730pm. Directed and presented by Rachel Perkins. It’s time for a reckoning. Are we ready to face the past that made our country what it is today? https://t.co/uZYkXtSPgW via @YouTube
Finally, after 9 years the lie is unmasked & the doors open.
A colossal waste of time, money & innocent life.
My apologies to everyone we’ve harmed.
There’s a long journey to ensure it never happens again.
But for now, the Game is Over.

I came to Australia asking for safety when I was just 15 years old.
Now I am 24 and still in detention.
If I'm not a refugee, why would I endure such a difficult time as a child if I have the option to go back to where I came from? Even then, I'm not safe in detention either.
The BBC is revered, respected and envied around the world. It should be the most treasured of National treasures. Something true patriots of our country should be proud of. It should never be a voice for those in government whoever is in power.
My pleasure to meet some of our beautiful, newly arrived Afghan families in Syd today.
How we all got here is immaterial, we’re all equal, have a right to safety, freedom from persecution, to dream.
Let’s resettle more.
20,000, to be exact.
