Hi American - you said that Basic Economy “got a little glow-up”, yet proceed to only say that you don’t earn miles from this tier anymore. What is the actual glow up part of Basic Economy, except for continuing to screw over passengers? Explain to me what I’ve got wrong here.

As Sharpay said, “out with the old, in with the new”, started Dec 17, 2025, Basic Economy got a little glow-up (and a little tougher love) and they no longer earn AAdvantage miles or Loyalty Points. No stress though, if you want the full “bang for your buck,” grabbing Main Cabin or higher is the move since it keeps you earning and comes with fewer restrictions, which honestly is the real win.
