🚨EXCLUSIVE: The White House is considering a plan to buy the Chagos Islands from Mauritius, potentially sinking Sir Keir Starmer’s plan to cede sovereignty of the territory.

US officials have drawn up a proposal to bypass Britain’s preferred arrangement and make its own deal to take control of Diego Garcia, @Telegraph understands.

It is among several options drafted by Donald Trump’s administration in a paper aimed at providing alternatives to the PM’s plan.

While purchasing the islands is not the leading solution for the White House, the idea has been raised directly with Scott Bessent, who has brought the matter to the president’s attention, sources said.

Henry Nowak died the same way a civilization dies: abandoned, handcuffed by authorities who neither trusted nor cared for him, and accused of hate crimes he did not commit. His murder is as tragic as it is enraging. He should still be alive today, and he would be if the last few generations of European elites had stood their ground against the politics of self-hatred and the mass invasion of migrants, many of whom despise the West and the people who love it.

Henry was far from the first to so needlessly lose his life, and I fear he won’t be the last. Each time a life like his is lost, the proper response—the only response—is righteous anger. One of the most important things the Trump administration has proven to the world is that stopping the flow of mass migration and defending national sovereignty is a matter of political will and leadership. Anything else is an excuse.

It is because we love the West that we want to preserve it. We love our civilization. We love our country. We love our children. And nobody—nobody—should ever die the way that Henry Nowak died. May God comfort those who loved him, and may God rest his soul.

After the Senate blocked debate on renewing FISA Section 702 for 3 years this morning…

Congressional authorization for FISA expires at 11:59:59 pm et on Friday, June 12. 

However…

The FISA court ruled that investigations and surveillance may continue - even with the Congressional lapse. 

However, the program relies on the cooperation of telecommunications companies to provide metadata on who is communicating with who and where. FISA Section 702 does not sweep up the details of communications. Just understanding who everyone is communicating with. 

That said, the telecoms may be reluctant to continue providing the information without Congressional authorization. The reason is that they may fear that providing this info to the government violates 4th Amendment rights against improper searches and seizures.
