@ChristieNold@TchKimPossible Grateful for this thread. I’ve used the same mentor texts mentioned. I get to teach Humanities again next year and thought I might incorporate the book “Your Name is a Song” by Jamilah Thompkins-Bigelow as well - asked our library to order it and it just came in 2 days ago
I challenge the schools, districts, & universities sending & posting letters about solidarity w/ Black people & commitments to racial justice to append to their letters a list of policy, institutional culture, & personnel changes that will have them walking their talk.
I slept in this morning. I woke to videos of the police killing another black man. I couldn't find my essay from February so I've republished it on Medium before I've even brushed my teeth for the day.
Stop sharing the damn video.

Commit to showing up in your spaces, homes, & social circles with that same energy, outrage, and concern on tomorrow and forever!
Racism exists & lives in our systems—beyond performative allyship, how will you actively work to be antiracist? #BlackLivesMatter#AhmaudArbery
I belong in this room.
Just like
He belonged on that run
She belonged on that campus
They belonged in that church
She belonged in her home
He belonged in that car
We belong in all spaces
Inside
Outside
We belong to exist in this world
And not be sent early to the next one
Rocked a game of online chess during advisory 1:1 meetings today, we teamed up against the computer (Level 2); we didn’t finish the game but no doubt it was the highlight of my day ♟✨

@ChristieNold@biblio_phile I am uncertain if I will ever get used to running with the mask if we are able to return to a running routine in the coming days. May folks find reprieve during the present moment and the moments that follow ♥️
@ChristieNold@biblio_phile I hear you. Running w/ a mask has been a challenge over the past few weeks here in Hanoi. Recent increased restrictions have reminded me that it was a privilege to be able to run during this time (even w/ the mask) and for that I am grateful.
