This is Michael, the farm foreman. He's worked at Journey's End since 1998, when he was 16, and started as a general farm worker. He's worked his way up to foreman and is now Lodewyk's - our vineyard manager - right hand man.
Our concrete eggs add a complex layer to our classicallly elegant wines. Other reasons to embrace the egg: allows the wine to move more freely than it would in a traditional barrel or tank, keeps the temperature stable, softer tannins, richer body, adds texture.
