If you want to evolve a live card (like Showdown Mastantuono) but don’t want to miss live upgrades, do this:

- Put the live card into the EVO you want;
- Complete level 1, but DON’T claim it;
- Wait for the live upgrades to be applied;
- Then claim lvl 1 and finish the EVO.

At the end:

Your card will receive live stat boosts that can go above the EVO caps,
and the EVO will complement the remaining stats.
