We often celebrate and speak of mothers’ love. Fathers deserve their flowers too.
Today, let us honour fathers for the sacrifices they make, often quietly. We celebrate the futures they build through discipline, hard work, and the example of strength and responsibility they provide for their families.
I also celebrate my husband whose devotion as a father inspires our family and our dear state.
To every father in Abia: whether by birth, adoption, mentorship, or care, thank you. Your guidance shapes families, and strong families are the foundation of a stronger Abia.
Happy Father’s Day to all our fathers. May you be celebrated today and always.
Making the journey to Arochuwku was an easy decision to make… if it was me Alexx would have showed up. Happy Father’s Day to all the father’s out here doing their best!
Guess who's the new daddy in town on a Father's Day? 😄
This morning is the happiest of my life.
After months of anticipation, prayers, hospital visits, midnight worries, and endless preparations, my wife finally delivered our beautiful baby this morning. The moment I heard that first cry, everything else faded away. The sleepless nights, the anxiety, the waiting, it all became worth it in an instant.
On a day set aside to celebrate fathers, God decided to hand me the greatest Father's Day gift of all, the privilege of becoming a dad. Seeing my wife safe, strong, and smiling while holding our little bundle of joy is a feeling words can hardly describe.
Today, my heart is full of gratitude, joy, and excitement for this new chapter. Welcome to the world, little one. Daddy is already in love with you. ❤️👶🏾🎉
A FATHER’S DAY TRIBUTE TO MY BROTHER, ALEXX EKUBO
Today, on Father’s Day, my heart is drawn to the memory of a dear brother, Alexx Ikenna Ekubo-Okwaraeke (Chief Ikuku), whose sudden departure left a void in the lives of so many who knew and loved him.
Alex was more than a friend; he was a younger brother. We shared not only our roots and heritage but also many meaningful conversations about life, purpose, faith, and becoming the best version of ourselves. He always showed me immense love, respect, and affection, and every encounter with him was filled with warmth, laughter, and sincerity.
One thing that has continued to weigh heavily on my heart is that a few weeks before his passing, I reached out to his close friend, IK Ogbonna, to ask about him. I was assured that he was doing well, and I promised myself that I would call and check on him personally. Sadly, I never made that call. It is a regret I will carry for a long time. Yet, in all things, we submit to the sovereignty of God, whose ways are higher than ours.
Although Alex did not have biological children, I choose to celebrate him today because fatherhood is not measured only by the children one leaves behind. It is also measured by the lives one touched, the joy one spread, the kindness one showed, and the people one lifted.
Alex was a father figure in many ways. He had a rare gift of making people smile. He was generous with his time, selfless in his actions, and always willing to help others. He carried a good heart and left countless beautiful memories in the hearts of those privileged to know him.
What comforts me most is knowing that Alex loved God. Therefore, while we mourn his absence, we take solace in the belief that he is resting peacefully in the bosom of the Almighty, where there is no pain, no sorrow, and no more parting.
On this Father’s Day, I honour your memory, my brother. Thank you for the laughter, the friendship, the respect, and the love.
You may be gone from our sight, but you will never be gone from our hearts.
Rest on, Chief Ikuku.
Rest on, Alex.
Until we meet again.

I am honoured to succeed Senator Udoma as Chairman in January 2027 and to lead the Board through @SeplatEnergy ’s next phase of growth.
I firmly believe in the critical role indigenous resources play in the economic transformation of Nigeria and Africa, and Seplat’s culture of execution and governance aligns strongly with my own values.
I thank Senator Udoma and Roger for their stewardship and look forward to delivering further value for shareholders.
I also congratulate Mr. Okon on his appointment as Chief Executive Officer.
His deep industry experience gives me great confidence that @SeplatEnergy is well positioned for its next chapter of growth.

Yesterday in Aba, we commissioned 14 newly completed road projects across Osisioma, Aba North, and Aba South LGAs. This milestone reflects our unwavering drive to reshape Aba and unlock Abia’s economic potential.
The roads include: Aro Amano–Eke Aro Road, Adaelu Road, Geometric Road, Afule Road, Assemblies of God Church Road, Nwogu Ajagba Street, Nwala Street, Sacred Heart Street, Elizabeth Avenue, Nigerian Brewery Ring Road, Etche Road, Mosque Road, Crystal Park Road, and Kingdom Hall Street.
These projects are designed to:
* Improve connectivity
* Ease traffic congestion
* Support industrial growth in Aba
On Geometric Road, I recalled its poor state not long ago. Today, it stands transformed, lined with industries and opportunities. Afule Road, built as a strategic bypass, will ease pressure on Aba–Owerri Road, while Adaelu Road showcases the speed and efficiency of our project teams.
In addition, we flagged off construction of the first phase of the Aba Ring Road (4.9km) under the Greater Aba Development Authority (GADA). This strategic bypass will decongest Aba metropolis, improve access to neighbouring states like Akwa Ibom and Cross River, and further drive urban renewal and economic expansion.
Each of these projects reflects our commitment to quality, with proper drainage, street lighting, and durability.
As we mark three years in office, these projects are proof of growth and progress, opening new pathways to prosperity for our people. Aba is rising, and together we are shaping the future Abia deserves.
