Hello world, my name is Hooty! I am a snowy owl who's off to visit the world for Joy Oxley (@yesjox), as a part of #joymeetsworld. Joy loves travel, but after a stage 4 stomach cancer diagnosis, she can't do it. You can read her blog here: https://t.co/BDCEdH5xc1
[20 Feb 2019] I may have napped a little too long, as it was time for the night watch when I awoke, as the ship pulled away from Tauranga Harbour. I hooted a goodbye to Mt. Maunganui, and settled in on my roost for the night. I'm ready to see Joy in the stars..
#newlog 19/Feb/2019 SnappyTomCats took it to Mount Maunganui view, Tools of the Trade (Mt Maunganui); The Grand Old Duke Of.. (Bay of Plenty); tria flumina, Artificial Structure, Row, Row, Row Your Boat (Gisborne) - North Island, New Zealand
[19 Feb 2019] I'm in the North Island of New Zealand now, in a place called Gisborne. The Snappys said our geocache hunting today would start here at this artwork, "Read Me A Story Grandad" by Donald Paterson. It's at the library, and Joy loves books, so I was happy to hoot here.
[19 Feb 2019] "I'm a warrior too, but I'm not a fighter. I'm a dreamer." .. "Being a dreamer also means I hope a lot. I hope I have many years left in me. And if I don't? I hope I get to go peacefully in my own bed." I sat and quietly hooted to the horizon as the tender sailed.
#newlog SnappyTomCats took it to Historic Star Boating Club (Wellington) North Island, New Zealand - 317.07 km; Paddy the Wanderer (Wellington) North Island, New Zealand - 402.92 meters
[18 Feb 2019] Today we were going on a tour of Wellington, with a few sneaky visits to look for geocaches. "Look at those houses," the Snappys said. "They look like they've been glued to the hillside."
I hope they used strong glue.
[18 Feb 2019] I had time to take an #owlselfie with one of the SnappyToms and Ian, who was such a help with getting around a new city. I hooted to him about Joy and her love of travel, after all - that's why I'm here, being carried with love on this adventure!
