Justice for our farmers begins with returning what was always theirs.

I wrote to the @goacm demanding that the paddy fields adjoining the Margao Wholesale Fish Market be returned to the farmers who have cultivated them for generations.

The land was acquired nearly two decades ago during the tenure of former MLA Damu Naik for a truck terminus that never materialised. Yet farmers continued to till the soil while waiting for their rights. Media reports indicate that the former MLA is also keen to see that the acquired fields are returned back to the farmers.

How long will this government treat farmers as trespassers on their own land?

Return the land. Respect the farmer. Restore Goemkarponn.
