A 16-year-old student (now 22) from Limpopo, South Africa, has received attention for a safety device she designed. Her name is Bohlale Mphahlele. She created the idea for a device called the "Alerting Earpiece." It is a small device shaped like an earring. The goal is to help people in dangerous situations.
She got the idea because of high crime rates and gender-based violence in South Africa. She wanted to design something small, simple, and easy to use.
The design includes a small camera, a GPS tracker, and an alert button. The idea is that the user can press a hidden button. The device would then take a photo of the attacker. It would also send the user's location to trusted contacts and emergency services.
The device is still in development: The prototype has won awards (including bronze at the Eskom Expo) and international attention, but it’s not yet commercially available.
It will hit the market sooner than later show how one idea from one person will eventually effect the lives of many
Stay tuned to stay safe on this
It’s honestly shocking to see someone openly provoking South African citizens like this. Politicians really need to advise their friends to keep a low profile instead of provoking us online for attention.
Bragging about renting out an RDP house in South Africa, especially as a foreign national, is not only insensitive but deeply frustrating. This kind of behaviour is exactly what fuels unnecessary tension and outrage. @HermanMashaba You have my vote sir, so this can be corrected.

BMA seizes counterfeit goods worth R2.8 million at Kosi Bay port of entry
The Border Management Authority (BMA) has intensified its clampdown on illicit trade, intercepting counterfeit goods worth more than R2.8 million at the Kosi Bay Port of Entry.
On Monday, BMA border guards arrested two Mozambican nationals after uncovering counterfeit products hidden in a truck initially declared to be carrying cooking pots and towels.
A thorough inspection revealed 100 boxes of Afzal hookah flavours, branded sneakers including Adidas, Nike, and New Balance, over 1,000 pairs of Nike sandals, and Louis Vuitton belts. SAPS confirmed the items as counterfeit.
The suspects were detained at Manguzi SAPS and charged under the Counterfeit Goods Act and the Tobacco Products Control Act.
BMA Commissioner Dr. Michael Masiapato praised officers for their vigilance, stressing that counterfeit goods harm the economy, legitimate businesses, and consumer safety. “The arrests at Kosi Bay are yet another reminder that our officers remain alert and ready to enforce the law,” he said.
The seizure follows similar operations earlier this year in Lebombo, Van Rooyen, and Caledonspoort, where counterfeit clothing, footwear, and cigarettes valued at over R2.2 million were confiscated. The BMA says it will continue working with SAPS, SANDF, and SARS to dismantle smuggling networks and secure South Africa’s borders.
[FIVE FOREIGN NATIONALS ARRESTED IN R350M CRYSTAL METH LAB BUST]
Mpumalanga police dismantled a clandestine crystal methamphetamine laboratory worth an estimated R350 million and arrested five foreign nationals on a farm in Volksrust on yesterday, 19 September 2025.
Police acted swiftly after receiving a tip-off about suspicious activities on a farm in Oudehoutkloof, Volksrust. The informant reported a strange chemical smell emanating from the premises, which raised suspicions of illicit drug manufacturing.
The intelligence was operationalised as part of Operation Shanela 2. A multidisciplinary law enforcement team, including the Department of Home Affairs, proceeded to the farm. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the gates were locked. The suspects, on noticing police, attempted to flee on foot but were quickly apprehended.
Five foreign nationals from a North American country were arrested, while two other suspects – believed to be from West African countries – managed to evade arrest by fleeing into nearby bushes.
A thorough search of the premises led to the discovery of:
- Large quantities of precursor chemicals used in drug manufacturing;
- Drug-manufacturing equipment;
- Crystal methamphetamine valued at approximately R350 million, packaged in lunch boxes and buckets stored in freezers;
- A pellet gun loaded with blank rounds; and
- Three live 9mm rounds found in the possession of the farm caretaker.
Following the discovery, the premises were secured, and Forensics was called in to process the scene, which was handed over to the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigations (Hawks).
Preliminary investigations revealed that the five foreign nationals in custody were in the country illegally. They are facing possible charges related to contravening the Drugs and Drug Trafficking Act as well as the Immigration Act. The farm caretaker, who is South African, was also arrested and faces possible charges for the possession of ammunition.
If these people can ask for funding from NYDA they won’t even get a response

Social media users raise R38,000 to gift cows to General Mkhwanazi for anti-corruption stand
In a powerful show of support, South Africans have raised over R38,000 on social media to buy two cows for KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.
The donation drive, started by X user Chris Excel, comes days after Mkhwanazi publicly exposed high-level corruption and political interference within the South African Police Service, sparking national debate and calls for accountability.
The campaign, launched on 6 July, quickly surpassed its R35,000 target, with plans to source the cows from a local black farmer and use a black-owned business for delivery emphasising community empowerment.
Supporters say the gesture is a thank you for Mkhwanazi’s bravery in speaking out, with many calling him “Lord Mkhwanazi” for his bold stand against corruption.

SHOCKING SCANDAL IN SAPS!!!!
Lt-General Lineo Ntsiea is actually from Lesotho and stole someone's, apparently a relative's identity.That lady's surname was Ntsiea and she was a teacher. It was done with the assistance of the former management of Free State, Lt-General Mashigo, Maj-General Mamabolo and Lt-General Tsumane,with the assistance of Ace Magashule. She was a clerk at a school in Welkom and stole money from Tilo High School's feeding scheme. She was then arrested and had a criminal record.
She had an affair with former Commissioner Mamabolo and got pregnant with his child. Mamabolo got her this fraudulent ID of Ntsiea to get her into SAPS because she didn't qualify with her own surname because of the criminal record. Lt-General Mashigo, Tsumane and Ace Magashule assisted to change her identity. She was then appointed as a senior superintendent in SAPS with a fraudulent identity and fraudulent qualifications which belongs to the real Ntsiea.
This means that SAPS never vetted her because they would have known that she is not who she pretend to be,parading with someone else's qualifications.
At Tilo High School in Welkom they do not know a teacher called Ntsiea,they only know the clerk Ngouwa who stole from them.
SAPS has been harbouring a criminal in one of their top positions for many years. A criminal who destroyed so many lives of honest, ethical and dedicated members of SAPS. A criminal who appointed her own family in top positions, like her own daughter,who still have their family surname as well as her sister who were appointed as a Brigadier at forensics.
Not only did she stole from poor school children. She also stole from SAPS by paying her daughter a stipend from SAPS while she was a full time student at Stellenbosch university. Maletsatsi Ngouwa earned a stipend of R6000 per month,with a persal from a member from Phongola in KZN,this persal was also stolen. For 3 years she was paid by SAPS and after she graduated she was appointed as WO at the SAPS academy.
Ntsiea also appointed her own sister,from who knows where,as a Brigadier at Forensics. The list goes on with her appointments,like Makhubo who was promoted irregularly,demoted and promoted again after 6 months by Ntsiea.
This lady caused the destruction of the entire South African Police Service and must be dealt with HARSHLY and PERMANENTLY. There must be no mercy on her,she is the cause of the misery and pain that members have been going through. She have blood on her hands because so many members opted to take their own lives because of her.
She must be locked up in a cold dark cell and the keys must be thrown in the Indian Ocean. She must rot in prison because she is the devil's incarnate!!!!!
I have not heeled from her decision to grant Bushiri bail despite glaring proof he would evade justice. NPA proved beyond doubt he would flee & that's exactly what he did.
I'm waiting for her JSC interview to understand how she couldn't see what even my 8yr old would have seen
@Powerfm987@Thabisoo@Fifi_CM@RAF_SA Was the owner of the factory charged for employing illegal immigrat, R2500 per head in terms of the immigration act?
