A decade before achieving blockbuster status with Ghostbusters, director Ivan Reitman put himself on the map with CANNIBAL GIRLS, a more unsettling stab at horror comedy featuring future icons (and SCTV stars) Eugene Levy and Andrea Martin. Pre-order now: https://t.co/0Vme1HBjtW
Happy New Year indeed. @canuxploitation and I were happy to contribute a commentary to this release. Early Keanu Reeves!

An enjoyable and unexpected night last night at the CCE awards. Together with Paul Hunter and Katie Tomchishen we picked up an award for Best Editing in an Animated Preschool Series. It's such an honour to win. #CCE2024#yowzaanimation
One of the defining films of the Toronto New Wave, ROADKILL immediately turned heads in 1989 with its freewheeling punk rock style, launching the careers of director Bruce McDonald (PONTYPOOL), star Valerie Buhagiar, and co-star/screenwriter Don McKellar. https://t.co/k97gE7dAp4
We don’t have a new disc this month, but we’re excited to announce a new variant slip for THE AMITYVILLE CURSE by @wesbenscoter. While we aren’t able to offer this as a standalone item, you can purchase this limited edition for 50% off SRP all month long! https://t.co/0fU4oy8VQH
Very unexpected. I've been nominated for a CCE (Canadian Cinema Editors) Award.

More exciting news for the months ahead: Bruce McDonald’s celebrated rock n’ road classic ROADKILL (1989) is coming soon from CIP! We can’t reveal the details just yet, but expect a disc worthy of the film’s iconic status. Watch the classic teaser here: https://t.co/k60ejjPMbk
“Dirty Money is a real find, a Blu-ray this reviewer is anxious to share with friends—without telling them anything about it beforehand. I’m only sorry I didn’t see this earlier as it would definitely have made my list of 2023’s best Blu-ray releases.” @CIPictures@paulcorupe

I very much enjoyed the candid conversation with Bernie and Pete. It was supposed to be a discussion focused on The Man Who Wasn't There (1983) but quickly turned into a 3D geek fest. We mention @canuxploitation too!

Enjoying the sandwich named after a treasured actor from Canadian films. The "Harvey Atkin Reuben" @PancersOriginal. Delicious! @canuxploitation and I discuss Harvey in our commentaries on the bluray releases MINDFIELD (1989) @CIPictures and FUNERAL HOME (1980) @ShoutFactory.
RÉJEANNE PADOVANI is our third and final release from Denys Arcand’s unofficial ’70s crime trilogy – and it may be the best of the bunch! Featuring an all-star Quebecois cast, this is one of Canada’s sharpest, most incriminating cinematic self-portraits. https://t.co/dhuke5OLUk
Chris @Movingradio and I finally sat down to talk about Julian Roffman's THE BLOODY BROOD available from @KLStudioClassic. With commentary by me & @canuxploitation. Peter Falk's first major film. Roffman would follow up with the MASK 3-D in 1961.

Despite being primarily influenced by westerns, I like that Black God White Devil (1964) also dips its toes into expressionist horror, even if it's fleeting. Cinematographer, Waldemar Lima's interior lighting is a real treat in a film that mostly plays out in daytime exteriors.

I haven't seen this film since the early 1990's in the days of VHS, so I've been so excited to view this new restoration of Glauber Rocha's early Cinema Novo masterpiece. It certainly doesn't disappoint.
Saw Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom yesterday. I was really struck by how much Black Manta's henchmen resembled the crew of Mario Bava's Planet of the Vampires.
The limited slipcover edition of MINDFIELD is down to 169 copies, and it's on sale for just $15 until Thursday at noon EDT. Get it while you can! https://t.co/bvNLZp7mMY
