Macron’s muddled message seems to want to have it all—good economic relations w/ 🇨🇳& sale of dual-use goods for ex. helicopters to Beijing while complaining about, “foreign [hint 🇨🇳] ships fishing illegally” in the region’s waters and criticised the “numerous loans made w/ leonine conditions which are quite literally strangling development”. For Macron’s speechwriters, China is Voldemort.
