More than 20,000 Xbox fans are asking Microsoft to remove paid online multiplayer, saying players should not have to pay extra just to play online after already buying a console and games.
A request on Microsoft’s Feedback Portal has received over 20,000 votes, making it one of the most popular requests from Xbox users.
Fans want online multiplayer to be free instead of requiring a Game Pass Core or Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
the recent animations I created with my Miku & Teto models kind of made me think about one thing... what if I made a music video with it? I think it would be fun to see what kind of visuals I could pull off !
Skitarii (singular: Skitarius), also known as the Tech-Guard or Legiones Skitarii, are the primary cybernetic infantry forces of the Adeptus Mechanicus in Warhammer 40,000. They serve as the bionic heart of the Mechanicus’ armies, defending Forge Worlds, protecting Tech-Priests, and advancing the Quest for Knowledge across the galaxy.
Origins and History
The Skitarii trace their roots to ancient Mars during the Age of Strife. Early forms were created by scavenger clans on the red planet’s surface, using advanced augmetics that evolved into the corpus-skitarii (their iconic battle armor and cybernetic bodies). These forces grew into a formidable army under the Fabricator-General of Mars and the Cult Mechanicus.
During the Great Crusade, Skitarii legions fought alongside the Emperor’s forces, serving as the mailed fist of the Mechanicum.
In the Horus Heresy, they were divided, with some aligning with the loyalists and others with the Dark Mechanicum.
In the 41st Millennium, they remain sworn to individual Forge Worlds rather than the Imperium as a whole (per the Treaty of Olympus Mons), functioning like the Mechanicus’ equivalent of the Astra Militarum—but far more augmented and specialized
Creation and Augmentation
Skitarii are not simple Servitors or mindless drones. Most begin as fanatical menials, genetically engineered clones, or vat-born humans dedicated to the Omnissiah (Machine God). They undergo the Flesh-shriving, a brutal process where much of their organic body is replaced with cybernetics, augmetic armor, and neurocircuitry.
•Their brains become hybrids of flesh and machine.
•Many pass the Crux Mechanicus, becoming more machine than man (especially Skitarii Alphas).
•Psychological and surgical conditioning ensures fanatical loyalty; they can be ordered to kill allies without hesitation.
•They retain some independent thought and personality, though heavily suppressed and redirected toward duty. Higher ranks like Alphas show more autonomy.
This makes them incredibly resilient, capable of operating in extreme environments (radiation, toxins, vacuum) that would kill baseline humans.
Role and Organization
Skitarii act as bodyguards, hunters, garrison troops, and vanguard forces for Tech-Priests and Magos. They are relentless and emotionless in battle, driven by imperatives from their masters.
Key battlefield roles include:
•Skitarii Rangers: Long-range hunter-killers with galvanic rifles. They have iconic cybernetic legs for tireless pursuit across harsh terrain. They track foes for decades if needed
•Skitarii Vanguard (Rad-Troopers): Close-range specialists armed with radium carbines. They are so irradiated that proximity alone is lethal to enemies.
•Sicarian Ruststalkers/Infiltrators: Stealthy assassins and shock troops.
•Other variants: Praetorians (elite heavy augmentations), Skatros snipers, and various vehicle crews (e.g., for Dunecrawlers or Ironstriders).
They use advanced, often experimental weaponry (galvanic, arc, plasma, rad, transuranic) far superior to standard Imperial Guard gear. No two Forge Worlds equip their Skitarii identically
Culture and Mindset
Skitarii glory in serving the Omnissiah. They view their augmentations as holy blessings. While conditioned for obedience, they take pride in their “holy work” and can form bonds within cohorts. Higher-augmented individuals earn great respect. They are pragmatic, calculating, and view organic frailty with disdain.
In summary, Skitarii embody the Mechanicus ideal: the fusion of flesh and machine in pursuit of technological perfection. They are elite, expendable-yet-resilient cybernetic warriors who bridge human will and mechanical efficiency in the grim darkness of the far future.
