Finding it funny today that DNF is seen as some sort of sin. What did that book do to deserve such faithfulness? Maybe if it's an author I've liked before, but even that's a stretch. Each book should be worth it on its own merits

[Joseph Rein @JReinAuthor]

AI is inevitable, so I'd better just give up the fight and learn to use it...

You know what else is inevitable? Death. And I'm sure as hell fighting to actively prevent that from arriving any time soon... #writing #ai #selffulfillingprophecy

Was introduced to someone as a writer. He immediately said, "I don't read." Dead stare for a second.

What am I supposed to do with that?

I don't play golf, but I listened and showed interest when you were talking about it...

[Joseph Rein @JReinAuthor]

@klhicks912 Explaining their importance (most readers truly don't know) and then following up individually. Seems like pestering but I've found no other solid way

[Joseph Rein @JReinAuthor]

@SDDonovan What we like about our writing and what is good for a particular piece aren't always one in the same

Editing an audiobook is both easier and far more taxing than the actual writing

[Joseph Rein @JReinAuthor]

@ElChandler Never. They'll have to pry it from my cold, dead keyboard

[Joseph Rein @JReinAuthor]

I've been em-dashing since 1992–there's no way AI is taking that away from me...

[Joseph Rein @JReinAuthor]

@SDDonovan Here here

[Joseph Rein @JReinAuthor]

@writing_show Slippery slope here... when you can show me the clear line of where AI was "used" and where it wasn't, I might believe this

Audiobooks are reading. Full stop.

After a string of subzero weeks, just-above-freezing temperatures feel absolutely glorious. I'm taking hour-long walks every day; all my other responsibilities can wait

[Joseph Rein @JReinAuthor]

At a Q&A, I was asked which was my favorite. I couldn't answer--it's like choosing a favorite child...

[Joseph Rein @JReinAuthor]

@RWeberWrites Characters drive plot, not the other way around!

If "writer's block" includes doing the 1,000+ things necessary for my job/kids/health/general survival on a daily basis, then yes, I've experienced writer's block

[Joseph Rein @JReinAuthor]

I like defense, I generally like the game of football, I played and now coach my son's teams, and.... that Superbowl was borderline unwatchable.
