@DBKearley@atlanticpuck Wanted the franchise, but when they gave it to the Dobbin group, they gave them one of the worse lease agreements ever. It was like 2000 bucks just to use the center ice scoreboard.
@DBKearley@atlanticpuck 2/2, but do you do that the concessions sales goes up. Money rolling in. The first year's you havr to do that to draw interest. So it's not a total loss if you have the right reason agreement. That's what it boils down to. The group who managed mile one at the time. Cont...
@DBKearley@atlanticpuck That may very well havr bee. The case..if it was they took a page out of the Moncton Wildcars Marketing book. The first year's were nothing but high school kids getting free tickets. But with those free tickets it probably got the parents to but a ticket that night 1/2
@atlanticpuck The US needs 2 teams, imo to work. For a rivalry. . Naturally St.John's great barn. The support was there originally just a terrible lease is what killed that franchise. You move a team there, first figure out the other teams situation, and then explore expansion just my take
@SteveMcLean888@atlanticpuck Cornwall has had a team in the Q before. They just couldn't take Ontario kids unless they were free agents. I think Cornwall could be a great barn. No worse than what they play in Baie-Comeau Val-D'Or or Rouyn-Noranda. Maybe an upgrade or 2, but it could be very feasible
@DBKearley@atlanticpuck The only problem with the boat is that you never know when it's going to run this time of year. It's probably cheaper to have the charters fly into St. John's. The support was there in St. John's, it was just a terrible lease with Mile One that killed it.
