The reason the Rams were able to take the shot on Ty Simpson was because:

1) They have the best roster in the sport
2) They got a freebie from fleecing the Falcons

Given the idea that they don't plan to pick this high again for a while, they had to take a swing at QB eventually. They decided to attach the wagon to him.
