At the 26th General Assembly of the UN Tourism in Riyadh, I highlighted the importance of artificial intelligence in the tourism sector.

Tourism is a window to the wider world. And today, AI is reshaping how we experience that world. In Europe, we see AI as a game-changer for smart and sustainable tourism. It can help manage visitor flows in real time, protect heritage sites, and reveal hidden treasures.

On the margins of the General Assembly, I had productive meetings with the new Secretary-General of UN Tourism @Shaikha__Nasser and ministers from across the Gulf, Europe, and beyond — to discuss how we can advance cooperation in tourism, investments, and sustainable mobility.

Our shared goal is to strengthen international cooperation on transport, mobility and tourism — building smarter, more sustainable, and better connected destinations for all.
