@andrii_sybiha Can I ask a stupid question.
We’re all very impressed with Ukraine’s recent successes. What’s stopping Russia from doing the exact same thing to Ukraine as Ukraine is doing to them?
The suffering is very simple and explainable. If someone loses a war yet insists on continuing to fight, their losses will become greater.
Palestinians are not the first people to lose land, only the first to lose land and sacrifice their people with no hope of winning militarily.
Israel accepted a Palestinian state in 48. Palestinians refused. Palestinians could have had a state when Egypt and Jordan controlled the West Bank and Gaza, yet somehow statehood wasn’t a priority when other Arab countries controlled the land.
I’m glad to hear the Palestinians are unarmed. You should tell the families of the 2000+ Israelis killed since Oct 7 that maybe they’re not really dead since the Palestinians don’t have advanced weapons.
Regarding the continued killing. Can you specifically say what you would do different than the Israelis if you were in their position? You mention the innocents killed but conveniently leave out the new head of Hamas and his deputy who were the targets and killed in the strike.
Can people be killed without it being a genocide? You use that word to the point where it has no meaning whatsoever.
I do appreciate your admission that the genocide claim has been regurgitated ad nauseum to the point where everything Israel does is genocide, regardless of facts.
@sedra_ko@ChrisVanHollen I think you’re Jewish also, but I won’t hold that against you.
And I take your response being that there was a genocide after the events of Oct 7 and not before. Correct?
@sedra_ko@ChrisVanHollen If by your point you mean that fighting between Israel and the Palestinians didn’t start on Oct 7, I agree.
If you think acknowledging that gives you some type of victory, all you win is the internet knowing you’re a simpleton who treats this conflict like a sporting event.
@NMDA_Official@ChrisVanHollen Here’s the real real hard truth- thinking like that will condemn the Palestinians to endless misery and war.
Some friend you are.
@sedra_ko@ChrisVanHollen Nope.
And it didn’t start in 1948 either.
2 states for 2 people. It’s the only solution unless you want more orphans like the child above.
Funny. That’s literally the argument Israeli supporters make.
If you don’t think Israel should exist because it was built on conquered land, than neither should the US. Or Australia. Or Canada.
Again, either create a time machine and prevent these things from happening, or accept the reality on the ground and make peace with Israel. Or keep fighting and stop complaining when the Israelis fight back.
Out of curiosity, what do you think happened to the Jews who lived in ancient Israel/ Palestine? They were murdered, massacred, ethnically cleansed and many fled to Europe and elsewhere. That’s why they were a minority.
Personally, I don’t care about their claim to the land from antiquity. The Jews, like any people, deserve a state of their own. But they convinced the world to give them some land and the world agreed. The county exists. Either come up with a Time Machine and undo the partition of the land or move on.
But Jews have lived in that land for thousands of years. To say that they have no claim ignores that simple reality.
Personally, I think allowing Jews a single tiny homeland where they’ve lived continuously since the times of the bible when Muslims / Arabs have dozens already is justified.
@funeral_planet@ChrisVanHollen Of course I knew that. So the ottomans conquered the land from the Palestinians?
Better yet, why don’t you just tell me when the Palestinians ruled over that land. That is a genuine question.
