I’m here at the Da Vinci Center at 7 PM, getting things ready for tomorrow’s North End Backpack Drive! It kicks off at 11 AM sharp at 470 Charles St, Providence, RI 02904—first come, first served.
After that, we’ll head to Chad Brown for our second backpack drive at 3 PM, 285 Chad Brown St, Providence, RI 02908.
A huge thank you to the sponsors and contributors who made this possible. We pulled this together in less than a week, and it’s all thanks to a beautiful coalition of people who truly care about our students. THANK YOU!
North End, I need your help spreading the word! Tell a friend to tell a friend!
I've seen some cruel things in my career in politics, but @LennyforRI's call on @SenatorRuggerio - a two time cancer survivor - to step aside is the cruelest and most tasteless.
Lenny's statement, which lacks any sort of well wishes for Donny, is also full of lies.
You know @pvdschools has been through some tough times the last few years, but this pic sums it up, we have great kids, hardworking, dedicated teachers and a superintendent that truly cares….together we will move forward and prosper, I just know it… Go Purple Go PVD Schools
Today, we welcomed back @fdspaziano students into their brand-new school! We are so excited for students to have a new, state-of-the-art building! Special thanks to everyone who made this all possible!

Former Ward 4 Councilman Nick Narducci, surrounded by family & friends, cuts the ribbon on the newly refurbished Narducci Learning Center. The PreK-8 school opens Wed. and will be used in the short term as much-needed swing space for students as the city rebuilds other schools
It was so inspiring to witness @pvdschools Fire Academy in action at their search and rescue exercise today! CTE programs like this not only benefit employers like the @PVDFireDept but also help change the lives of the students who participate in them. More of this, count me in.
We are inviting the PPSD family to join us at Mount Pleasant High School for community sessions to hear about the future of the Providence school:

So proud of the 211 Providence Public School students that graduated with a Seal of Biliteracy in 10 different languages! You have a tremendous superpower and we're thrilled to celebrate you! @ppsdMLLs@BiliteracySeal@AvantAssessment@MultilingualRI
“There are many paths and life is about the choices you make,” said Superintendent Montañez while speaking to students at Brown Day. “Have faith, believe in yourself, think wisely, get that support group around you, and always ask yourself ‘what if?’”
Thank you @PVDMayor for hosting our civics classes this coming Wednesday and providing a space for our HS civics students to learn about the many public service offices at City Hall and 444 Westminster St. Working together to improve Civics Education @pvdschools@RIDeptEd
Congrats to @EThreeAcademy teacher John Healy, the inaugural winner of the RI Civic Education Teacher of the Year, honored for his commitment to students & civic education! The award was presented by Sec. of State @GreggAmore1, Supt. Montañez, @AInfanteGreen, & Dr. Juda.
Just attended a very informative meeting in ward 5 hosted by Councilwoman @JoannRyanPVD5 re the future of Mt. Pleasant HS. @pvdschools gave these assurances: 1) it will not be closed 2) it will not be privatized 3) rebuild or renovate will be a matter of community input.
"I came in and the kids were going crazy. It had me more nervous to come in and talk to the kids with how excited they were than an actual football game," New England @Patriots cornerback Jalen Mills (@greengoblin) told @yannitragellis. https://t.co/DWc9n1E75A
