White people really hate being reminded that they are part of a group with discernible boundaries, shared interests, and shared responsibilities. https://t.co/FKsaiXgqYi
@JJ_McCullough@SpencerFernando Should we then make more laws to lay out rules for political parties, then?
What sort of law should be on the books for the case of a member of parliament being kicked out of their party?
@TomPestock Time Cut om Netflix - It wasn't a great slasher flick, but it was a solid high school time travel one featuring Portage Place in Winnipeg. The characters beyond the three leads was pretty cookie cutter, but it never delved below a tv b-movie.
This raises a really interesting question: How do you win a trade war?
When you think about the answer, it seems pretty clear to me that Canada cannot lose.

@bungarsargon@piersmorgan The New Deal and FDR weren’t pro-tariff. The DNC believed that tariffs were a tax on the poor since at least the 1880s. The GOP passed the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act in 1930, and FDR signed the Reciprocal Trade Agreements Act in 1934 to allow him to negotiate lower tariffs.
@ApolloPickles@j_fishback@TheOmniLiberal You asked for an example of Trump asking for personal loyalty. I gave you one. To quote one of my favourite movies, if you don’t know, it’s no use me telling you. Could you explain to me why Rudy Guiliani was disbarred? Was it political, or did Trump have him act beyond the pail?
@ApolloPickles@j_fishback@TheOmniLiberal https://t.co/eW7MrqouKx
That seems like a cut and dry example right out of the gate in 2017. According to Nixon and the current SCOTUS, "when the president does it it's not illegal," but I would say the Justice Dep should be arms length. Similarly, Sessions and Meulller.
@j_fishback@TheOmniLiberal I would partly agree with the idea of Biden pardoning Trump, but I think he should have done so at the beginning of his term specifically for his role in the attempted insurrection. That would have forced the GOP to find a different candidate in 2024, as accepting is an admission
@j_fishback@TheOmniLiberal The standard since the Saturday Night Massacre has been for government officials to do their job; Trump wanted them to do what he told them, regardless of the law. If he succeeds in firing the “disloyal” people and instead fills the government with blind obedience that’s bad.
@Ser_Smiles@screenrant Besides the marketing, the domestic box office was under $100 million, with the international box office being the rest. The theatres get a cut (roughly 50%, less for the first week or two) and international distributors take more. It didn’t turn a profit on its theatrical run.
@LoganCamFor@NicholasMoore16 @bitrate_billy @B_Stack_ Wasn’t it said in the first film that they had previously abandoned the Arc Reactor tech as not being cost effective?
I’m not sure if they’ve ever presented it as being cheap, although maybe changing out from Palladium in IM2 might explain the army of bots in IM2 and A:AoU
@drhankopelman @EYakoby They don’t seem to understand how bookshelves work either, considering there would presumably be history books on other topics outside of the end-cap display on a topical subject which would be on the minds of students.
@Orygun_Jones@Steve2d@TRHLofficial The purpose of stating that someone convicted through impeachment and removed from office would nevertheless remain liable for criminal prosecution is to remove the result of double jeopardy in them being tried again. Impeach + acquittal doesn’t equal criminal immunity.
@Orygun_Jones@Steve2d@TRHLofficial This was addressed in the ruling (Trump v United States) by the SCOTUS, as Trump asserted that impeachment was a prerequisite for criminal prosecution. They ruled that there was little basis to agree with that view, and did not go that far. Look up the definition of nevertheless.
@Jaylon37322755@Targ_Nation Even without the book knowledge, the battle of Rooks Rest sort of demonstrated the folly of rushing into things.
Daemon showing some patience where Aegon II didn't shows the consequences of rash action.
You win or you die, after all.
@notsoErudite I just watch HBO’s Conspiracy a couple of days ago where they allude to “evacuations.” They also talk about the various tests for edge cases on Germans with one Jewish grandparent. How you would deport citizens unless they “positively contribute” seems… https://t.co/abhEbMsfTM
@FifthAngle1@washingtonpost The show ran for ten seasons, so just because you hadn’t heard of it doesn’t mean it wasn’t popular in the context of basic cable.
If you’re going to be upset over the redefining of any word used in the headline, it should be “reality” but that ship has sailed.
