The City Council just passed a Jim Crow-style “snap” curfew that targets Black youth.
To our students: You matter. You are loved. This is your city.
We stand with the Mayor vetoing this ordinance and stand with the young people who make Chicago great.
Policing is not care. Segregation is not safety.
True or False
1. 81.7% of students attending CPS are not proficient in math?
2. Only 31% of students attending CPS are proficient in reading?
3. CPS spends 97% more in 2025 than they did in 2012 despite students proficiencies declining?

The Chicago Police Department is mourning the loss of a courageous hero who protected our city until the very end. We stand heartbroken alongside his family and loved ones. In grief, we will #NeverForget.
Almost 10 seconds. Almost a Dozen Warnings.
Think about that.
I want everyone to pause and count to 10.
Ten seconds may not seem like a long time—until it’s the last 10 seconds of your life.
To those advocating to defund the police, I ask: How long is too long? How long is long enough?
Consider this: what if the exact same scenario had unfolded, but the officer fired first, killing the suspect?
What if the suspect wasn’t armed, but the officers believed he was reaching for a weapon?
Here’s what would happen:
There would be an outcry questioning why the stop was conducted in the first place. People would ask why more time wasn’t given for the suspect to comply or why the officer didn’t just wound him.
The officers involved would be placed on desk duty while the State’s Attorney deliberated over potential murder charges. The family would hold a press conference demanding justice and a multimillion-dollar settlement from the city. We’d hear about how the suspect was on the verge of turning his life around.
The Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) would probably recommend termination. Politicians would claim systemic racism had struck again, calling for even more scrutiny on law enforcement.
This is the climate we face today—one shaped by politicians and media, systematically dismantling the foundation of policing. This erosion of public safety has left our young officers second-guessing themselves, hesitating in critical moments.
In this profession, hesitation can be fatal.
So, the next time you hear about an officer shooting a suspect—armed or unarmed—who refuses to comply, remember the last 10 seconds of Officer Martinez’s life.
Ask yourself: What would you have done?
#NeverForget

NEW: The Chicago Teachers Union is demanding an annual pay raise of 9% or the Consumer Price Index — whichever is less — and won’t rule out a strike, even with one of their own in the mayor’s office, CTU President Stacy Davis Gates said Thursday.

@SouthwestAir worst airline service I’ve ever had. First I had my flight delayed over 6x, sat at the airport for over 6hrs. Then got on the plane, waited over 1.5hrs to take off. Then they decided to cancel the flight. I was displaced, had to get a Uber and hotel. Smh
NEW: Sanctuary City Denver is now openly begging illegal immigrants to leave their city, warning them that they will "suffer."
This is peak liberalism.
Denver, a once proud Sanctuary City, has had enough "love and tolerance" and is begging illegals to go to other cities like New York and Chicago.
"The opportunities are over. New York gives you more. Chicago gives you more. So I suggest you go there where there is longer-term shelter. There are also more job opportunities there," said city official Andres Carrea.
Denver, like many other 'proud' Sanctuary Cities, has become overwhelmed after getting exactly what they asked for.
"If you stay here, you are going to suffer even more and I don’t want to see this," Carrea pleaded.
After giving his passionate speech and offering to pay for their travel, Carrea asked the crowd who was willing to leave.
Everyone decided to stay.
Wokeism always sounds "nice" on paper but never actually works.
An Illinois legislator wants to ban cops from enforcing many traffic laws, including most speeding and expired plates.
More: If cops find evidence of crimes during a prohibited stop, the evidence would not be admissible in any proceeding.
